Like a varmint bullet? Good question. I can't see why it couldn't be done. They have frangible handgun practice ammo that shoots at about the same velocity. The closest ammo in 22lr that I have seen are "Quick Shots". I think they were 30grn. bullets that split into 3 parts on impact. Never tried them, though.

There is a guy over here that makes frangable ammo in .223, 7.62x39 .308, 30-06, 9mm. 40sw, .45, 357sig, and .38  I'll ask him aobut .22

Hyper vel. ammo.

By a sub of CCI.?. Should be comercially available or through CTD maybe.

I like them and generally find them to be very accurate. And made in the good ol' USA.

Absolutely devastating on small game.
For a .22lr.
