sgtar15,
I don't think the jerk truck driver would be willing to drive that far.
He brought the thing in and he had two tight turns to make to get to the house, wouldn't even try it. I think he could have made it, but wouldn't take my suggestions (pull up one mailbox that just happens to be my brother-in-laws and he could have made it).
So I told him to just unload the thing and I'd drive it down the road (very hard pavement and a cloudy day so it wasn't hot). Wouldn't let me do that either.
So he has me go knock on this mans door and ask him if I could take it through his property.
"Yeah, but you're gonna regrade my yard where ever you go."
"Sure" I say, thinking the truck driver was going to back the trailer all the way up to the property line so we could just back it off onto my father-in-laws property. Wouldn't do that either. He wanted me to drive this 55,000 lb excavator up this guy's gravel driveway almost a hundred yards with several turns in it.
He got the thing unloaded in the street, I took over and acted like I was going to head up the guys driveway, he pulls off, I do a 90 degree turn and took off up the street with it! Only scratched the pavement up making the two turns, but the roads are old and will be repaved next year anyway. A month from now no one will even notice the scratch marks are there.
Eventually I did get a good seven hours of fun out of it. Go back tomorrow to finish it up!
Oh yeah, That A/C in that thing is sweet!
