Here in Minnesota it's illegal to transport a rifle without it being in a gun case/bag. I just thought that you guys who may not know of this bag should perhaps get one.
I live in Minneapolis, and don't have a car. Thus it's not too PC to take an AR-15 on a metro-transit bus to the shooting range. They kind of have a fit about that. I bought the following bag for relatively inconspicuous transport:
I modified it a bit though. On the right side of the bag & cliped (with alice keepers) my gas-mask pouch/mask, keep a cleaning & repair kits in the bottom pocket, keep operation manuals in the top pocket. Also on the left side I clipped (with alice keepers) a 4 magazine ammo pouch with the two side grenade holders. One grenade holder has a can of Freeze Plus P OC spray (to make sure nobody trys stealing my AR while on the bus), and the other grenade holder keeps an OC grenade (which spits out enough OC spray to completely fill 3 buses). That way if I get hassled by any ghetto-luvin' AR-stealin' punk-arse dip-wads I have the choice of spraying them with the mace can, defending with a pocketknife, or letting loose with the OC grenade (& putting on the gas-mask) if it gets really out of hand. This is the shit I have to deal with in Minneapolis. I've been assaulted 4 times since I moved here 3 years ago. I usually keep ammo in one of the 4 magazines, and keep ammo in boxes inside the bag. I bought my bag in black & sewn a Jansport tag to the back of it to reduce conspicuosity (or a word similar to that).
What do you guys use to transport your guns around in?
