I don't know if you want my opinion or not, but I'll give you the low down on each caliber. The 44 Mag is by far the most difficult to get to operate and even then, it will not digest every type of ammo 100% of the time. It is the most ammo sensitive as far as bullet profile of all the Tromix Sledgehammers. If you want a gun that runs 100% of the time, don't buy a Tromix 44 Magnum. This is primarily attributable to the fact the DE magazine changes feed angle as it unloads. The 440 CorBon is the speedster of the bunch and is the flatest shooting. Since you can get bullets as light as 165gr, it flat out, hauls ass for a big bullet. It will launch 180's at 2400fps. Reliabilty is very good. The 50AE can sometimes be a chalenge to get to feed, but when set up right, it will run all day long and accuracy is very good for such a short fat bullet. I still believe the .458 SOCOM is a better cartridge than any of the others, primarily because it is the appropriate length for the magazine and the rim is further rebated to '06 size. This gives you much greater bolt strength and the bottle neck feeds better than the short blunt 50AE. Its got more power than any of the others, but since bullet weight on the low end is limited to 250 grains, the 440 still wins the velocity race.
I personally would choose a 458 SOCOM ultra-lite with a 14" barrel and a 2" comp set up with a 1.5x5 Leupold myself. No one has yet to ever order this configuration however.
