 That crowbar fits the definition of a club and he got plenty close to the driver. No one has brought this up in relation to the bystanders' lack of action (I'm not sure I would intervene either.): with shows like Trigger Happy TV, The Jaime Kennedy Experiment, Punk'd and I'm sure numerous others would any of you be sure that this wasn't some kind of prank TV especially with a visible cameraman? If it happened to me I would've dropped him because I wasn't in on the 'joke', but I'm not completely sure I'd intervene. |

That's an interesting thought about this being staged - good way to get someone killed.
I would hope they'd have BIG SIGNS warning people this was staged. I did notice the PT never hit another car - I would have just shoved my way past if I chose to flee instead of fight. I likely would have driven up into the lot, toward the cameraman, hopefully with crackhead stuck to the under carriage.

Tell me about it, we offer an out of state CCW but that sucks for you guys because you accept our permit. ETA...We are an open carry state though...but doing that anywhere near the tourist areas would not go over well with anyone. |

Yep been through that very intersection many times in my visits to Las Vegas. Recognized that intersection right away. Just past the main strip, towards the old strip & Strat Tower.
Intersection = Las Vegas Blvd & Sahara Ave. You can see part of the Las Vegas Stratosphere Hotel Tower behind him, when he is ranting. You can also see the Sahara Speed roller coaster & NASCAR Cafe, when he is beating the car up.  Yep, I also Open carrying when I'm visiting there. Confirmed it with an LVPD Officer @ a 7-Eleven, asked him what the legalities were for Cali folk visiting and he was all cool about it. We were at the SOF convention for a couple years in a row (1990s), and a lot of folks were carry AW for the 3-gun match and the huge gun show at the Sands Convention Hall. I also remember carrying our AR15s through the Sands Casino Lobbies to our rooms years ago. We did get some looks, but we cleared it with the front desk. |

That is a good way to commit suiside.
But i feel it was staged also. nobody seems to have noticed the camera mans shadow. It was a production/news style camera. Still a good way to commit suiside tho. My dad carried an aluminum bat "Bad pistons for the hatch you know" with trashbags taped to the receiving end for years. I carry a truckers tire knocker. If asked, I have oversize offroad tires. |

Had I been the driver and not been "in" on the "prank" he might very well have ended up in a body bag as a total stranger beating on my vehicle with a crow bar would cause me to fear for my life. Outside of the "you could have just stayed in your car" defene the prosecuting attorney would hit you with I can totally see how it could be justifiable to put one in his head. Personally I would be fearing for my lfe if that happened to me...  Honestly, if he is that fucking hopped up on goofballs that he'd do that without fear of the repurcussions, then why should anyone "fear for their lives' enough to justify defending themselves. And she could driv away... she was blocked in by the traffic all around her... outside of driving up on the curb and plowing over a few signs and what not... but then she gets hit with destruction of city property... Also, you don't know who else is in that car... what if there were two infants/kids in child seats getting showered with glass as he busted through those windows with that crowbar? What if the crowbar continued to go through the window and into the head of one of those hypothetical infants. Not to mention having to worry about the glass that the baby is going to pick up and put in its mouth (those of you with kids know that a kid will put EVERYTHING in its mouth). Nope, sorry... he'd be dead, if I had to take a few wacks with the crowbar to get to himso I could beat him to death with my barehands.... temporary insanity as a result of parental protective instincts... case closed. |

It's staged.
Looks like an edit around 39 seconds - when crackhead says, "lemme SHOW yo ass sumpin". They filmed the "monologue" and then cut to him running over to attack the car after picking up his planted tire iron. |

Bumfights i believe is from Vegas. The "Indecline" stickers are all over downtown. It might be staged in the sense that the guy may have been paid or what not to do what he did. As for the edit, it could be just a capture from one of those Bumfights videos. But it looked damn real to me. And if you were in the car next to the Cruiser, could you logically assume that you could be next? |

If the car is parked and unoccupied, it is a crime against property...as soon as the car is occupied it becomes a crime against a person when that windshield or side window is smashed (he ain't stealing hubcaps!). In most states you will have a "duty to retreat" if retreat is reasonably possible. "Reasonably possible" will be determined at the leisure of lawyers, Grand Jury and maybe a judge or two much later and well after the fact.
Staged or not, this points out just how quickly stuff like this can...and does...happen. Lots of good material here to make us all think...How fast can you access your "car gun"?...Is your wife or GF ready for the possibility of something like this...mentally as well as weapons-wise? Anyone half paying attention should have had the mental radar buzzer going off as soon as they noticed this guy and his antics and gestures, etc. Easiest thing is to just drive away...if you can...be somewhere else. As for me here in Florida if this is/was happening to me for real? First hammer smash might...just maybe...be free...but he would be looking down the barrel of a gun while he did it...and as soon as the hammer comes back for another... DRT! |

Yep, I think the KEY here is his "irrational behavior". That "Insane" behavior combined with the deadly weapon is an immanent threat of lethal harm to one's self and/or family members. Nothing but glass in-between us and that crowbar? There's not a jury in the world that would believe that guy wasn't gonna hurt somebody. If the video is real and this guy wasn't acting, he is obviously in a state of rage. Drug induced or not. IF ANYONE HAD STEPPED OUT OF ANY OF THOSE VEHICLES HE WOULD HAVE COME AT THEM...... LIKE RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!
Personally, I would have stepped out. Yelled DROP YOUR WEAPON NOW!!! No doubt, he then comes at me....... POP-POP.... double tap center mass from my Glock 30.
