It was Fear....only people who were afraid for their lives were attacked. The Sherrifs Deputy was being attacked again at the end by his "wasp man" fear just as Mulder and Scully were about to rescue him, the sun came up, he survived, and everyone lived happily ever after (until the next full moon)

That was a very cool way to do an episode, but the plot sucked. If it had actually been a monster killing people it would have been much cooler.

Yeah, the way they did that with real clips of different episodes of COPS was really unique I thought.
