What am I?
Where was I made? For whom?
What caliber am I?

Hmm...

Mannlicher-Carcano?  Italy?  For the Italians?  6.5 Carcano?

Just a guess.

Nope!

Hint: I am the last bolt action infantry rifle ever developed.  Others were still manufactured in my time, but they were designed long before.  Mosin Nagants were made in the '50's but they were developed in the 1890s.

I was doomed from the start!

sorry MOD, an FR8 is a Mauser. (i know, i just bought one!)
its not a nagant, a mauser, an enfield, a schmidt/rubin, or krag.  (i own all of those, so you can scratch em off the list.)

It is an Al Azif, a limited contract production run of 8x52mm bolt actions for the Egyptian Army manufactured by the Bulgarians.

Imbroglio, it is just slightly spooky that you know that..that's pretty obscure.  I was gonna make something really wild up but .....

He's wrong!  I've never heard of one of those.  Does it exist or are you pulling my leg?  The only 8*52 cartridge I know of is for a Siamese Mauser.

its a bolt action rifle, probably firing a center-fire cartridge.

I'm leaving for the day so here's the answer.

It's a Danish Madsen Model 47.  It is one of the Columbian Navy contract and Columbia was one of a few South American countries that deviated from the 7*57 Mauser and adopted the US .30-06 cartridge.

It is probably the ugliest bolt gun ever devised but the quality is supurb.
