"J.C. Devine Inc. is pleased to announce that our July 22, 2001 sale will include a collection of TEN custom rifles made by Paul Jaeger, Inc. for one of their best customers. Many of these are "Signature Grade Rifles" made after Dietrich Apel took over management of the company from his uncle Paul Jaeger, and includes the gold inlaid rifle built to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the company. All ten of these rifles feature engraving and gold inlay with animal figures by the renowned engraver Claus Willig.
This auction will also include a large selection of scarce and collectible machineguns and accessories. These will include 27 live firearms fully transferable on ATF Form 3 or Form 4. The sale will also include several registered Dewat machine guns in exceptionally clean condition transferable without tax on ATF Form 5. Some states that prohibit ownership of live machine guns permit their residents to own Dewats, in addition these guns may be reactivated by qualified individuals. Among these guns are two WWI German Maxim MG 08/15's; A WWI Lewis gun made by Savage Arms; A WWII British Sten; A German MP-40; A French Chauchat Model 1915; A British Hotchkiss MK I in 303; And a British Browning MK II. All NFA rules will apply. We expect more Class 3 items will be added to this sale in addition to the several hundred lots of military, sporting and collectible firearms and militaria already scheduled.
