Alright. I bought a RRA lower and built up my 1st AR about 2 months ago. Now I come to realize that this lower has the "high-shelf" deal above the safety. Hence no accuwedge (don't want one) and no registered lightning link or RDIAS. Is it possible/legal to mill out the receiver in the back? What would I need to accomplish this, and is it worth the cost vs. buying a post-ban Bushy lower? (I mean, I already have this lower, so why not modify it, y'know?) Just interested in options on what could be done (if I wanted to do it)

ok butthead......we all know why you want to modify it, so why dont you just mill the SOB out and put the drop-in in and rock and roll.....OK?

I think that unless you have a real need for it it does not justify the effort.

Well, I was concerned with the "legalities" (read ATF bullshit that we have no choice but to follow) of doing so.

I think if you drill the holes for the M16 auto sear, you effectively create a "Machine Gun". Even if you don't posses the required parts to complete it.

I don't think milling the lower receiver is any big deal, because it still won't function as full auto without the holes for the sear.

I could be wrong though...

Maybe consider posting this question in the "legal section" ???
