Hello all,

I was helping someone when their computer when we got to talking about rifles.

He mentioned he had an AR and brought it out.

It is a Colt AR, did not have a foward assist, brass deflector, and had the A1 type rear site.

It has this on the lower:

Colt AR-15
  SP1
SP21xxx

I think it is circa early '70s.

Any idea on value?  Parts?

Thanks

Parts are widely available.  That rifle uses all the current semi-auto type parts.  It was a 1" in 12" twist, chrome plated, light weight barrel

Depending on the condition (good to NIB): $1000 to $1200.

I've had two of those that I stupidly let go over the years.  $1200 is low for around here (Arizona), but then again preban prices seem to be slightly receding in the wake of the THANKGODHE'SGONE election.

Thanks everyone.

I told him it would be between $1000 and $2000 if he decided to sell it.

Glad to see I wasn't that far off.

1000-1300 is the norm.
