Wow, that's surprising.
I'd really like to see what that does at ~100 yards with a 11.5 carbine. For someone on a tight budget, it might be a great option for someone who already has a mag or 2 of quality HD ammo. |

Thanks. Good video and review. But I wonder, did you take more than one data set? I would be interested in the extreme spread in a box? Where does a box chrono at plus or minus, as opposed to one shot.
Not meant to be overly critical, just curious. |

Strap some pork ribs and shirt/jacket in front of that gel and do it again. Just to see how it does through that. looks good through the gel.

How would you compare this to their 62gr offerings? I saw the silver bear had less penetration.

It looks like a good loading to stack deep. Better performance than FMJ, at least. |

Seems like a good economy defense load. Thanks for doing that test.

|
Wow. I'm surprised at the performance, might have to take a second look at Brown bear.
Is brown bear like the cheap tula and use steel projectiles that cause barrel wear? |
|
That is actually a lot better terminal performance than many of the loads you see touted as ideal personal defense loads by keyboard commandos and tactical guru wannabes. I'd greatly prefer bullet performance like this compared to the results you'd get from lightweight polymer tip bullets, lightweight hollow points and even many of the 55 grain soft points you see in U.S. made ammunition. For a non-bonded soft point in the 55 grain range, that's about as good as performance gets.

I've personally witnessed this stuff work well on hogs.
Great test and thanks for all the hard work! |
|
I really enjoy your videos. Great work.
I would love to see you test every one of your rounds out of a 11" or so SBR as well, as many of us run those with suppressors for HD. I know we can extrapolate which you point out in your videos, but photographic evidence is always helpful. Carry On. |
|
My only suggestion would be to use the extra two or three shots to test the repeatability of the terminal effects.
Considering the quality control of that ammo, that expansion result might change (better or worse). |
|
Given the results I've seen from other Russian soft point on my own channel, I don't expect a big difference.

As always great info ! Thank You.
I am going to have to purchase some and check its 100yd accuracy in my rifles.... gel performance is certainly GTG. |
|
Ahhhh, shouldn't this be in Ammunition? Trying to understand why this is in General. Is it due to being part of the Ar15 YouTube channel?
|

my bushmaster shot it great very accurate, little dirty but killed a doe no problem.good stuff.

Have you tested the 62 grain Brown or Silver Bear Hollow Point?
|
|
Great video. On the money!
ARs should cycle steel case and function with steel case ammo. |
|
Can you do a comparison of the Brown Bear to the Prvi Partizen 55SP. I know the Prvi is more but..
