What are the three most important items in your emergency trauma kit; whether it's your range/truck/bugout/etc. bag?

What's the next item you would like to add to the kit?

Anything in your kit you're considering taking OUT to make room for something else?

I'm curious to see the staples everyone agrees on and what unique items show up on some lists.

Alcohol wipes, bottle of motrin, band aids. I mean it's more of a FAK but still, those are the ones that are always in it and replenished no matter what.

Sawzall with a SS blade for emergency amputations.

I prefer my Wusthof bread knife for field surgery. It would look at home in a civil war medics kit.

My kit is actually a full jump bag I made (5.11 Rush 24) for special event EMS work I do on the side. I have everything from band-aids to SAM splints to hemostatics, full diagnostic gear like steth, BP cuff, pulse ox and glucometer and so on.

IMO everything is important. Strangely there's only two things I still haven't picked up for it....a BVM and tourniquets.

"Those A-B-Cs are so boring. I'm going for the X-Y-Z."

If I can only pick 3 off the top of my head: tourniquet, pressure dressing (e.g. Izzie, H, Olaes, whatever), good 2" silk tape.

Tourniquet - I like CAT, but SWAT-Ts are affordable and can work if you want to stock a lot
Gauze - preferably hemostatic, but you can never have too much
Airway management - can be as simple as NPA/OPA and maybe a BVM

Cool answer, trauma sheers, Israeli bandages, and tourniquets.  Real answer, band-aids, Tylenol, and Neosporin.

Better bag.

IMO BVMs are kinda bulky and they are annoying when solo/without an airway in place, to me a pocket mask may be a better option.

My NEO bag has two Anker solar screens, tourniquet, acetaminophen, TP, etc... stuff like that.

The Anker panels are pretty nice.  I've also got  a Goal Zero with a AA battery charger.

All just in case the "Little Pig" up north does something dumb (or dumber).
