When it comes to AR's I see little need for a 22 version. I had a older one. It was flawless, but made no sense when an AR has little recoil anyway. I sold mine.

The overwhelming answer is yes. Haven't heard of many breaking. Extremely reliable and some if the best mags for a .22 AR. My boys loved it. It sat in the safe for a few years so I got a new cheapo 15" rail for it and conversion nut and now I can't wait to shoot it again.

I don't get the .22 AR thing. Train the kids on unloaded AR's and spend the money on something else? They have 10/22's already..

I have two. One is SBR'ed @4.5" and has a sparrow on it.
Had them for about 5 years. Flawless! |

I have a basic one with a aim point, my kids love to shoot it. Runs flawless and even put up grade trigger springs from jp.

I have 4k rounds through mine and other than .22 ammo issues its been awesome. I have new shooters at the range shooting it constantly, cant load the mags fast enough

Plus it is not blasty, loud, heavy, has an adjustable stock, cheaper to shoot, suppresses better, teaches them the battery of arms and the wife loves it.

Fun gun. I've been training my kids on it for a few years. My son shot 40/40 IWQ in basic this summer. I don't doubt it helped him.

I got one, it goes to the range every time, especially with the reemergence of reasonable .22 LR, it eats anything and shoots accurate enough for drills.

One of the most fun guns I own. Squirrel hunting, steel challenge matches, etc.
Get a 15-22. I tried the conv kit and hated it. The 15-22 will be much more accurate. |

Now that .22LR is becoming much more plentiful and the price is dropping I'd say buy one.
Cheap practice and overall a great gun. Get a loader for the mags. You will burn through the rounds quick. Plenty accurate, my wife uses hers to keep the rabbit population down on our property. |

I love mine. My kid runs it pretty good from age ten up. Both SW factory mags and the Plinker tactical mags work. But the Plinker mags are harder to load. You can get mags Here. If your state allows it, get a factory threaded one and put a can on it. Mine is exceptionally quiet with Remington subsonics and a suppressor. It isn't movie quiet, but good enough.
BTW, I have a couple of 10-22s. They never leave the safe anymore. |

I have 1000's of rounds through mine and only choked if I hadn't cleaned it after about 20 mags of federal bulk
Beauty of it over a conversion is the weight. Nothing plastic broke on it for me. It even replaced my 10/22 as primary pest buster due to the ease of mounting a light |

I have the older quad rail model. Picked up the m-lock sport for the wife and now she gets mad when I hit the range without her. No buyers remorse on either one.
I hope the HUSH bill gets moving as I plan on suppressing both. The flash hiders/thread protectors were a bitch to get off. |

I owned one, long gone now...
The mag's are 100% reliable All in all they are good guns, IMO a little pricy for all that plastic Aftermarket parts are limited S&W customer service sucks, if you have a problem you'll have to send the whole rifle back to them, in general they wont sell you parts... FU S&W The fire control group is plastic, the one I owned the trigger pins would walk. If you buy one I'd suggest changing FCG, I used a CMC 3 1/2# with KNS trigger pins. I built a few dedicated AR 22's

They are great. You can add optics of any kind, and I think a dedicated 22 AR makes sense. The rifling is tailored to the cartridge.
I've found them to be accurate and reliable. The mags are cheap, often selling for less than $12. The mags are also easy to load. |

My cmmg .22 upper has several thousand rounds through it. It goes to the range eveytime. And gets shot around the property at home a lot since its been suppressed. Only bummer is i have to share with the kids.

I have 6 ARs and one is a 22. I'll probably always have one, too much fun to not have it.
Cheap ammo, can shoot steel at close range, rimfire competitions, all kinds of stuff. |
