Tragic and unacceptable.
Need something beyond a safety stand down. |

I have a friend on the America. I hope all of our sailors are found safe

Fuck.
That was my old ship as of a few years ago. Hoping for the best. |

How do ships with the most sophisticated search and surveillance gear money can buy keep running into things? I don't understand how this is even possible.

So the incompetence of the watch officers on our warships means we should start blasting merchant ships going about their way? Furthermore the navigation rules are for everyone to follow, including US Navy ships. They aren't special. Granted we don't know the detail with this one yet, but I doubt it's some huge conspiracy. View Quote 2. We are special becaues without us and our navy China rapes and pillages all of Asia. 3. Interesting how tensions in Asia ramp up and suddenly collisions start happening. Not saying that it IS sabotage but I am saying that China and NK certainly have motive for such sabotage. |

Of course without us China never would have the coin to rape and pillage all of asia. View Quote Older generations sold much of the economy that made them wealthy to China and now their Starbucks barrista grandchildren may end up having to shed blood because of it. Ironic and sad and I pray God saves us. |

Maybe the Chinese have learned how to spoof the nav systems. Or maybe some sailors just need to do their jobs right.

Everyone is blaming the Navy ship (as of pg 2), but what if some idiot civi crew decided to drink and play xbox and went into them? The damage seems consistant with someone else hitting them.

Are you fucking kidding me?
The wife got the notification on her phone as a news alert and I dismissed thinking it was the one from last month and it was a glitch. Turns out its true... Prayers for those sailors and their families. |

There comes a point where a multi-million dollar war vessel should be able to eyeball it coming and step on the gas to get out of the way of what is more or less a cow trundling along through the ocean. View Quote Do that and they could collide with another. |

Really can't tell without any further information. Could easily be like the Fitz and crossing another vessels bow. 10 crew members missing. Not good. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Fuck collision, that looks like a ramming. 10 crew members missing. Not good. And in reply to the earlier question, yeah, semi-submersible drilling rig. We actually had thrusters but were under tow as well. |

I'm drawing blanks on something. If you are standing at the door to Repair Locker 5 Alpha there is a ladder going down to the next deck. I can't remember what is down there? I'm almost positive its a berthing? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Prayers for the missing and wounded.
Does it frighten anyone else how badly and easily damaged these "fighting" ships are?? WTF happen if they take one single missile strike? Mine or torpedo?? I'm guessing total loss. |

Another Obama appointed SJW captain of that ship. Thanks Obama.

The USS Samuel B. Roberts and USS Stark both survived after hitting a mine and absorbing Exocets missile. I believe both of those ships are a testament to the ruggedness of our surface ships and our Damage Control expertise. I sure hope this is the case. To my uneducated mind they seem overly fragile to take a solid hit and survive much less continue to fight. View Quote Things may have changed considerably since then but the Stark was a nightmare scenario, caught unaware with no watertight conditions set and they saved that ship probably based on sheer human will and training. |
