The guy from Philly has had a couple of decent films and a few real clinkers. What was Shymalan's worst?
For me, it's easy: the ruination of "The Last Airbender." The source material was fantastic - great characters, story, plot, humor. The movie MNS made lacked every bit of every item. I'm re-watching the Nickelodeon series with the kids, and they love it. |

Signs.
Aliens who can't tolerate water at all decide to invade a planet that is 71% water, wonder what "Darwin Award" translates into in that alien language... |

I like all his movies. Not a genius or anything but entertaining. I dont really understand all the hate.

The village
Or the lady in the water. Both tied for stupid film of the Millennium. Beaten only by 'plan' 9 from outer space' featuring a nearly dead & unintelligible Bela Lugosi. |

I've only seen The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, The Village, and about 2/3rds of The Lady in the Water. I enjoyed the first three, with Unbreakable being my favorite and the only one I've seen more than once. I kinda lost interest in TLitW, and I just turned it off.
Have heard the rest kinda sucked, but I haven't seen any. |

I agree with The Last Airbender, although it was a pretty close race.
I enjoyed The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. |

Whatever his current movie is.
He is one of those directors who manages to out-awful himself with each subsequent film. His movies start out ok and slowly become awful as each one comes out. |

Yeah. I gotta go with this one too, lol. View Quote I thought Devil was pretty good. I thought he actually was showing some correction with that one. His "moral to the story" actually tied into the whole story arc a bit better and maintained some cohesiveness. I think his movies by and large are well done in terms of directing, acting and production. And I think his stories are mostly solid. But yes, there's always that one wonky idea that kinda ruins it for me, be it the water cups all over the place or the fact that it's plants. |

The Visit pissed me off at the end when the mom tried to call the police but couldn't get through because the local PD was out of the station...

The Sixth Sense
Fucking seriously, Bruce Willis didn't know he was dead the whole time? It shows him getting shot at the BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE. |

Lazy writing? The Village. Seriously, the monster is a dude in a monster suit? I've seen that show; it's called Scooby Doo. At least it had Bryce Dallas Howard. I never did finish The Lady in the Water. Not even BDH could polish that turd. EDIT AW SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT THE HAPPENING. |

"Devil" was real good.
"Last Airbender" sucked big time. Think I walked out of that movie. |

Yep, I get that, but on it's face it was aliens. It would have been a much better movie if: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/941/833/925.jpg View Quote |

Worst: The Happening was like having an ingrown toenail removed for 2 hours. F.
Best: Devil (elevator movie based on one of his stories, worth seeing) |

Signs and the Village are his worst that I've seen. Most of his stuff is good.

i was really excited about lady int he water, so its turd impact was greatly increased. the happening was probably objectively worse.
edit: i really enjoyed the village, even thought he 'twist' was predictable. |

I've only seen 3 of his movies, Signs, Sixth Sense, and The Visit. I liked the first 2, quit watching The Visit halfway through.

I'm really surprised Airbender isn't getting more vote. Y'all picking Signs or Lady in the Water not see Airbender? Those were mildly annoying: Airbender was really bad, and it was100 times worse if you had seen the series.

The Happening. Hands down the worst movie I ever sat through in theaters.
