Am somewhat interested in responses b/c I am considering a CZ sharp tail side by side for upland games and fowl. Like OUs but SxS's have captured my eye as of late.

Their not bad. Even the $400 baikals were stiff as shit at first but we're reliable field guns.

Had a CZ Canvasback in 20 gauge. Ran it pretty hard for four years. Great shotgun, loved it. I would buy CZ/Huglu again if they had something I wanted at a price I wanted. Sold mine when I upgraded to a Franchi Instinct. Know a number of folks that also run CZ. All are uniformly happy with them. A guy on Shotgun World was doing a long term test. At last count he had over 20,000 rounds thru his without a problem.
The Turks make nice stuff. The Turkish firearms industry is quite large. They can build to any price point a customer wants. Orvis used them for their shotguns. |

20 gauge is for 12 year old kids their first year hunting. At least the OP didn't try to convince anyone that his new gun is just as good as good as a top of the line shotgun. View Quote |

I'll tell people I used in the 'Stan while I adopt a thousand-yard-stare. |

cheap O/U arent necessarily bad but i would have tried to get one with double triggers. Those seem to be a little more reliable if you are going the budget route. In any case ive heard good and bad things about the CZ guns. Hopefully yours is good. If not, CZ has good CS.

My O/U's are:
Lanber 12 ga (Spanish) Stoeger Condor 16 ga (Turkish- Huglu likely) Remington SPR 310 20 ga (Baikal- Russian) CZ Redhead 28 ga (Turkish- Huglu) Baikal .410 (Russian) The Lanber and CZ each have over 5K rounds through them and no issues so far. |

I picked up the CZ Teal 12ga from Cabela's last Black Friday for $550. Great gun for the price. Will do it again in 20ga if they have similar deal this year.

I own and used to shoot a Remington "Spartan" o/u 12ga. That I purchased for around $400. I used to shoot skeet every week with it (for a few months) and I never had a problem with it.(mechanically) I never was able to find more choke tubes for it though, and the finish on the wood washed off when I took it hunting in the rain once. |

What's wrong with an O/U? I've kinda always wanted one. I occasionally shoot skeet with an 870. The center position is almost impossible (for me) if I have to pump. View Quote Can shoot 23 & 24s all day long with Benelli Nova or Rem 870... Cha-Chack baby! Just that sound along makes the pigeons shatter.... |

I was working away from home and had no shotgun with me when I got invited on a company dove hunt. Trotted down to the LGS and bought a used O/U Ruger Red Label 12 gauge. Paid like $220.00 for it. I use it now and again for birds and trap/skeet. View Quote Was her cheating husband away for a bit while she was getting rid of his expensive guns for next to nothing? That was a DEAL! |

Was your picture on the news that night? Was her cheating husband away for a bit while she was getting rid of his expensive guns for next to nothing? That was a DEAL! View Quote Once in a blue moon I stumble across a deal. I once bought a Vaquero .45 colt, a .30/30 Marlin, and a cheap double barrel 20 gauge...all for $300.00. A guy I know thought he was gonna get into cowboy action shooting - then decided it wasn't his bag. None of those guns had over 100 rounds through them. |

The choke tubes are of good quality and pattern very well in my SPR310 20 ga and CZ Redhead 28 ga. The finish on my SPR310 was kinda shitty too, but I re-did it with tung oil. |
