So do all of the screened in patios need laser sentry protection as well?

I have always referred to the screened patios in Florida as monkey cages.

They remind me of the "bird cage".

How long before someone complains about how the monkeys are destroying their farmland, then charges for monkey hunts?

I almost photoshopped a barrel of tannerite on a busy vibrant street corner but I think that's supposed to be bad.

We do the Silver River a few times a year and pull over and have picnicked right at that defunct boat dock many times. Nice and shady with several little springs coming up right there. Never (and we have been doing it since our first time in '73)  been lucky enough see a monkey anywhere on that river. Maybe next time.

Craptastic pic of that exact location.

I would think 4-5 people with semi-auto shotguns and 000 buckshot would do the trick. And knowing how invasive species proliferate in this State, why are they not being hunted down relentlessly?

Wonder who is feeding the little pests?
Well, deer feeder boy aside, nobody has to feed them.  They're fairly adaptable.  They'll eat all kinds of fruits, berries and insects.
Grade A foragers, they are.

If you do go monkey hunting, DO NOT EAT THE BUSH MEAT!

Herpes B will flat out, fucking kill you.  All you have to do is nick yourself skinning or gutting the little bastard.  Don't do it.
Shoot on sight and leave 'em where they fall.

As an old virology prof used to say, "Don't kiss the monkey, and don't let the monkey kiss you."

Thirty or forty years age they would show up in my yard. The troop of monkeys broke into two troops and one would always leave Silver Springs and try find another location. They removed a bunch of them after that. They did bite people.

The worst part is how much they reproduce once they steal the townspeople's food.  When they all do it, there isn't enough manpower to call animal control and get them aperested.  The only way is scorched earth.

I went on that boat ride as a kid. Alligators and monkeys were the draw.  They had lots of food to throw for the monkeys so maybe if that's gone the monkeys are mostly gone.

Were the boats glass-bottom boats?  Or were those a different ride...

We use our own boat. About a 5 mile putt (No wake) of river from the boat ramp on Hwy 40 to the main spring head. One of the last relatively unspoiled breathtakingly beautiful spots left.

All you need is a few mags full of blanks and a case of cleaning rods

Now i want to go monkey hunting.
i think a few semi-auto 12 ga full of buck would be perfect

if its anything like an Argentine dove hunt you would need spare guns or barrels and a shitload of ammo
