What does everyone think of this thing? It's only $170 ... I kind of just want to buy one cause it's so cheap!
Atlantic Firearms Mag Fed Shotgun |
|
"cheap" and "semi auto shotgun" have just never gone together for me.
|
|
I'd bite if it had drum mags, 3 round sticks aren't going to do it for me. They claim 5rd are coming but I've seen how that goes.
|
|
Maybe.. if larger sized mags became available, but even then, no. Shotguns..
I don't see any capabilities beyond any other shotgun. |

Hey remember when Saigas were under $300? Early adopters take a chance. Usually it's a bust but sometimes you get a great deal. If they don't suck and supply lines stay open the aftermarket will come. That being said it's likely just another el cheapo ChiCom shotgun.

The stock & fore-grip are plastic, why didn't the manufacturer simply make them black? The brown color looks extra "cheap". I mean, I know its a sub-200 dollar gun... but still. It would have looked better black.
If it functions proper, its a steal at that price. Buy one and report back op. |

For $140 I would take a chance on it just for shits and gigs.

Someone convert one of these to Saiga drums so I can troll the gear tier queers at

Based on looks, I want one!
Based on everything else I will stay far far away. |

If they come out with bigger mags...maybe. but not until then

This! I'll let everyone else wring them out. It looks like it has an adjustable gas plug, which is a good thing. If this pans out, runs reliably, aftermarket drums will follow quickly! View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

From what I can gather these have been imported since at least 2004 and have been as cheap as $110. Magazine availability has always been an issue. Googling around a bit it looks like somebody imported a batch of these 15 years ago and got their ass kicked on the deal, generated no interest, no parts support, no aftermarket support (only the 3 rd mag, and no extras of them it seems). Ended up giving most of them away at CDNN for $100. But $140 isn't bad if 5 round mags are available and priced reasonable. Somebody ask Centerfire if the 5 rd mags will be priced to move or to rape. Better not ever break anything though...

This doesn't fit into any of those categories. |

After watching some youtube videos, it would probably only be best as a wall hanger. Internal parts look terrible and seems like a lot of problems. I can see why it's so cheap.

Mmmm I'll pass, I'd rather buy another Pardner Pump for that money. I suspect there won't ever be any parts available for this. It's not a clone that I expect to use parts from a more common gun, and it looks like you're definitely going to be replacing parts sooner or later. I doubt there's going to be enough demand for a drum.

That seems to be the catch 22 a lot of people want a drum or hi cap mags but they will not make them until it is popular so it will not get popular View Quote |

I don't think I'd trust a pump that cost $170, but a semiauto? Hell no.

Looking back at all the 3 gun matches I've shot it seems like just about all the magfed shotguns I've seen have issues. It doesn't matter if its a firebird custom or a straight out the box saiga.
Look forward to lots of cleaning, polishing and tinkering to get it to run. I've also heard from many competitors that the drum magazines are more reliable that box types, the brass lip on a 12 gauge shell doesn't lend itself to easy magazine loading and feeding. I will say that I've seen some really awesome runs... 30 round "wheel of death" drums blazing away shredding a stage. I've also seen some very good shooters so frustrated with their magfed shotgun they want to throw it in the weeds. I would be skeptical for 130 bucks, its not uncommon for open shooters to have 2 -4 k tied up in customizations in a magfed and its mags to get things to run right. |

LOL I'll eat my left nut if that thing is anything other than a jam-o-matic that breaks after 100 rounds.
I'll eat my left nut ... and then I'll buy one. |
