I saw a St. Louis County cop in a flight suit walking into a gas station just ahead of me. I thought nothing of it until I was in line to pay and looked up to see his pistol in a shoulder rig, completely horizontal, pointed right at me.
I took a big step to the side. I know it wasn't going to magically go off but looking right at the muzzle gave me the heebie jeebies and I did not like it at all. I know... CSB. |

Holstered firearms are as inert an object as one can get.
It's human involvement that makes me skittish. |

At least you weren't looking down the barrel of his gun on a belt holster.
'Cause that would be ghey. |

Do you avoid multistory structures because somebody may walking above you with a holstered gun?
|
|
Yea I'd rather not look down the barrel of a firearm either.
No thanks. I'd have done the same. IDGAF how inert it is or how well the trigger is covered or if the hammer is down safety on blah blah blah. I don't fucking want guns pointed at me. |

Looking at an unholstered pistol isn't something I'd recommend. Not a fun time.

I'm a law-enforcement pilot and I've had probably two or three people in the past 10 years make comments to me about the same thing. I carry horizontal in a mitch rosen shoulder rig.

Beastie Boys - Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun |

When I read the title I was wondering what you were doing laying on the floor by a cop. Didn't realize it was going to be a shoulder holster. I'm disappoint.

We are still talking about handguns, right? Because with your dating history..... Well, ya can't be too careful. View Quote I was 19. I was rolling around with a SBR inbetween my seat and the barrel would run up the dash in my Jeep. Pulled into said bar parking lot. Got motioned over by a cop. Made contact and informed him about said SBR. Next thing I know I got a pistol in my face and I was detained for an hour or so until a higher up could come down to inform the dumbass cop I hadn't committed a crime. Cop was furious. He was sitting there yelling how I didn't have training for such a firearm and this and that. They tore apart my jeep looking for anything to get me on. Even took pics together with the blow up doll I had in there. Higher up dude asked if I wanted to make a complaint. I declined. Looking back I should hit hard with a complaint and a lawyer. The girl I had came to pick up, was long gone too Not the only time Ive had a gun pointed at me by a cop either. |

Wow I should chime in and say every time I drive by the Runway to Luke AFB and there is a military aircraft sitting on it or taking off, i am starring down their guns and looking head on into a rack of fucking missles that could go off anytime. Because mechincal and electronics malfunction all the time.
Do you get skirmish when you go gun shows and guns have their muzzles pointing out toward the patrons? |

I had a hillbilly cop in Northern California throw me down and put a model 28 behind my ear ln the early '80s.
Swore by Neptune's Trident I'd never put myself in that situation again. It sucks. |
|
Lucky. Few look down the barrel of a .40 cal and live to tell about it.

A few years ago I was sitting in a meeting at a DHS fusion center across the room from a SDPD detective. He had an ankle rig on and was sitting with his legs crossed to where the barrel of his pistol was sticking out the bottom of his pants leg, pointing right at me.
It was one of those "huh" moments, even moreso when he noticed me looking at it and tugged his pants leg down to try to cover it up. |
