I can think of a lot of historic battles that I would have turned the tide on but regardless, I would first make a pit stop to myself at about 15 years old and tell them everything I now know.

Place-The Indus Valley and Malabar Coast of India Purpose-To investigate the proposed Pre-Harappan civilization. Some Indian scholars now link the Vedas to that civilization. Don't think I'd really need the squad, but it's always nice to have back up.

I would return to the golden age of piracy. Commandeer a ship of the line and then pillage the high seas with my bloodthirsty Marine pirate crew. We would have an island hideout well stocked with Latin hotties, rum and immense treasure.

I just want to go back to 1790's with a history book and sit down with Congress and the Founding Fathers to talk about some wording in our founding documents and to have them buyout all slave owners and repatriate those slaves. That should pretty much fix today quite nicely. |

Era: Before May 2011 What event: Take out OBL What: Explosives demolition of the compound with OBL inside Fly in on an Osprey. Set up mortars. Move guys in to cover the exits of the compound. Start attacking the compound with mortar fire. Shoot anyone who exits the compound. Set the inside of the compound on fire. Extract after it is fully burned to the ground. It would be way more messy than what the Navy SEALs accomplished and a lot more collateral damage. |

I've got a story on a creative writing website where an ex-marine and his corpsman buddy utilize a time machine built by a physics professor to go back to 1876 Deadwood. Guy was a sniper in the corps so he's using an M1A with an ACOG along with a M1911 Colt as well as a CZ 75. His buddy carries an M4 as well as a fully auto AK snuck back home. The corpsman ends up helping a woman realize her dream of becoming a doctor while the marine makes money transporting gold and collecting all the weaponry collected off the bad guys that try to part him from his gold. Said weapons minus 137 years of wear and tear are brought back to the present and sold on gun auctions. In the story, he comes across a "Custer" rifle, an later, a well worn Indian gun that was on the Lewis and Clark expedition. Much of the story deals with modern people dealing with actually living in the past, along with the reactions of people from the past dealing with the future. The marine marries a woman who deals cards for a living, and together they build a town where the gold comes to them. In the story, I deal with the use of modern weapons and optics along with night vision and thermal imaging devices against black powder weapons.
