The Venom moving stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and will be directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and now we know it's villain will be Carnage.

Also reportedly the plan is to have Spider-Man in the movie as well.

The movie has a scheduled release date of October 5, 2018.

Nice.  Loved Venom and Carnage (the old school versions not that gay ass one from the Toby franchise).

Always thought the characters were cool looking, but never cared much for the "symbiote family" concept.

Tom Hardy lucky bastard he gets to play two of the most badass comic book characters.

I've got to where I will watch anything he is in, I watched Band of Brothers on Memorial Day and it's hard to believe he was that skinny little dude.

Here’s a list of some of the things Cletus Kassidy (Carnage) did:

- Murdered his grandmother

- Tried to kill his mother with a hair dryer

- Tortured his dog to death with a power drill

- Murdered an official at an orphanage

- Burnt down said orphanage

- Pushed a girl in front of a bus when she refused to date him

And that was all just when he was a kid.

Yeah, unfortunately, we won't get that version.   It will be watered down, and venom won't be the fringe hero he ended up as, he will be like Wolverine, just a rough edged hero, not vigilante.

Well, it's not exactly like Spider-Man has a laundry list of awesome villains like Batman's rogues gallery.

Of course, no single character does though except for perhaps Wolverine.

Here is a drawing he got kicked out of a contest in high school as it was too good and they thought he copied it.  Nope no copying, it took him over a week a draw, and he was pissed.  Oh he wants it back, ha ha,, good luck with that.

This was the kind of stuff he was drawing all though H.S., he was a senior when he did this one.  It is actually quite large, my phone doesn't do it justice.

I used to draw his drawings/comics when I was a kid. too cool.
My brain never worked in such a way that I could draw well out of my own mind but I could draw what I saw very well.

That drawing above was a tribute to Conan the Barbarian, we've talked about many times and we both agree the right foot is a bit off, lol.  Boy he took a lot of shit for all of his time drawing as a kid, even from our parents who thought it would take him no where, boy did they eat crow.

On another note, he made a drawing for me of some small wizard holding some type of cane and a mistical ball floating off one hand which was totally cool.  That drawing disappeared in one of moves, suspect is the wife who likely tossed it.  Was ready to demonize her for that.

I think I have at least two of those comics.
I had an awesome one that you could only buy via mail order. It had Venom on the cover with a gavel and the cover was all embossed or whatever.
My brother (down syndrome) got it and colored on it. Totally sucked but he didnt know any better. Good times when I was a kid.

I remember that one!  I think my mom has a signed copy of it, or at least she did unless she gave it away as she does on rare occasions.  Funny I never really did follow his work, while I would look for his name when I saw a spidey comic at a store, guess you get so use to it that it is second nature.

Man you guys are making me feel old, lol " read all of his shit when I was growing up" pretty funny actually.  One regret he and I have as we both collected comic books back in the day, wish we still had our collections as they likely would be worth something today as they all were read once or twice and then shelved.

Hunter-Killer, I want to apologize if I derailed your thread.  Hope the new movie is a good one as it was the movies that really got a resurgent moving in the paperback comic world.

Whoa, that's fuckin' awesome!

Growing up in the 90's, Spider-Man was my all time favorite comic book hero.

I even sketched Spider-Man and Venom a few times. Thought being a comic book artist would be a rad job.

Man....I remember seeing that comic at my local Stop & Rob growing up and knowing it was a #1 and I knew it was going to be big and never bought it. As far as comics regrets go not buying a Punisher #1 and Venom #1 are my tops.  Punisher was too expensive when I was really into it as a kid growing up.
