Actually yes, even tho I am anti-rap.
I remember when rappers didn't have to make up words to rhyme. When rhymes were actually coherent. When they matched the music/beat. |

Mainstream rap music these days is fucking atrocious outside of a select few performers its just a bunch of people speaking unintelligible ghetto speak into auto-tuner and repeating the n-word as many times as possible.

So about a year or two ago my ex-G/F came to town. As she was an ex-stripper herself, we wound up at a toppless strip club.
The thug rap music played there was the same garbage I had heard over 25 years before. "I am super rich and piss my money away to show this I have the biggest d*ck on the planet I am the best in bed ever All the women want me I am the baddest MF ever." It sounds like the sh*t a 13 year old would say. |

Not my cup of tea but I won't have my kids listening to musician of any genre who glorifies retarded, criminal behavior (plenty of rockers, some outlaw country types, and of course gangsta rap)
|

Early gangsta rap really meets the definition of an art form. Particularly it meets the requirements for folk music. It presents a unique view of the world that reflects their perception of reality. I like a lot of it and listen to it on backspin.
