The way things are going I could maybe tolerate another 10 years. Unless something changes I really don't want to keep going on much more than that.

If boredom qualifies as a reason to die then imagine all the suicide you've created by boring others. If your bored then you are a boring person.

When? Don't know. But I want to be at peace when it happens. And sure as fuck don't want it to be a slow drawn out process, such as from disease.

I figured my time was before I hit 25. That was many moons ago. Now I just go with ""only the good die young."So I will be around forever.""

I just think there is only so much one can take in mentally and that has been proven already... I mean we can just about physically make you last forever, but mentally you will deteriorate. On yours and 90sh556's response to immortality, I look at how politics will combine with technology and I'm pretty sure I don't want to be around for their final victory. Although they might provide an opportunity to at least die well. |

Good question. Hopefully I tip over from the big one at 80 while in decent shape and have my mind yet. If not and it's gonna be long and drawn out like ALS or a hideous cancer, make a whisky, have a cigar, watch the sun go down and eat my .45 Colt. Maybe rub one out before I go.. Certainly, do not want to live forever. Would be most happy if I departed not one minute sooner, nor one minute later than I am supposed to. If that time was tomorrow, while somewhat sad that I had to leave my family, I would not regret it provided it was my time; if that makes any sense. View Quote 1. How would you know when your death is "supposed to" happen? 2. Isn't the time when you do die, by definition "your time" to go? |

Ha! That sounds funny, but I actually got to that point once. About 25 years ago I began losing the control of my hands due to a neurological disorder. It grew progressively worse until one day I found myself nearly unable to wipe my ass. At that point I walked to the closet and pulled my pistol off the shelf, intending to end it. To my chagrin, I discovered that my hands didn't function well enough to retract the slide so that I could chamber a round... View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Damn brother hope things get better. I have the same issues from a VBIED blast. Is yours getting worse? I just wonder how long I got before all my balance is gone. View Quote In my case they assume it was caused by an autoimmune thing or some virus. We have done a ton of tests and nothing has come back to point to an autoimmune cause but I am on meds to try that route as that is something they could try to treat to make my symptoms better. The irony is my ears have no damage - the little bones, hairs, etc all work. My issue is in the nerves or brain itself. I had perfect hearing one day and literally a week later I had to stop working as I couldn't hear people in meetings or on the phone - not that I could work anyways as I had vertigo and other challenges and stress made it worse. |

Much as I would prefer to die with my killer's throat clamped in my teeth, or perhaps be swept away by flood waters saving a child, my end will almost surely be slow and ignominious. I've seen the people, often stroke victims, sitting in the hallway in a nursing home, unable to do anything but stare blankly, waiting for death to end their pain and boredom. So I ask, when do you want to die? When you can no longer live independently? When you are in great pain? When boredom becomes too much? Would you do anything to hasten your death, or will you wait for death to come to you? Uh, cheers. View Quote When the Lord calls me thats when... until then I'm staying put. So much to do so little time. |

Before I can no longer care myself. I'd suck start a pistol before I'd go into a nursing home. Fortunately family history says I'll drop dead from a massive heart attack between 65-70 so it's doubtful I'd ever get to the point of being an invalid.

So to me, it's calming to admire them and set them up like in movies or pictures. When I do shoot them, it's one of the only things that will truly relax me and clear my mind (focusing on the target). To me, guns are a life saver and give me something to work for (my collection). |
