Do you enjoy the possibility of randomly losing a spring?
I didn't actually look at their mounting system until I got my Tango Down VFG, but holy shit this is the dumbest design ever.
How so? I was nearly set to order an ADM mount, but I've not seen one before.
Using recon mounts and never had a issue, but hey I don't run through the jungles of naum with it either
I use adm mounts Bc I like the toolless removal and installation
Do you not have fingers? I didn't even know that was a possibility
I have zero issues with mine. Holds zero, and locks on just fine.
Never had an issue with any of mine.
Maybe 14ers are so fucking dumb that they make retards look smart. |
Didn't they change the spring so they wouldn't fall out a few years ago?
I over torque a screw on one and stripped it out. Didn't hear the wrench click to indicate I was at my poundage. Emailed ADM and they said to ship it to them. They sent me a brand new mount with no charge within a week's time. It's the only time I've ever had an issue with one of their mounts and it was my fault. It'll take a lot to make me switch brands, I'm more than happy with them.

They are rock solid and return to zero when remounted. Operator error? Or as my Dad once said after I had hit my thumb with a hammer: "Son, you got to be smarter than the hammer." |
I just checked, mine are fine. I was unaware that they could spontaneously disassemble, I will keep them and take my chances.

If you don't buy the newest cool guy brand every year, you will certainly die in combat. The odd catch-22 of this rule is that the only people who can actually afford to buy all the newest cool guy gear each year will almost certainly never use any of it outside of tactical cos-play or a "carbine course."

This is the first I'm hearing of a problem with ADM mounts. Do you have any evidence of people having issues with them? Otherwise, I'll have to believe it's bullshit.

I'll stick my LaRue mounts and my two old ARMS mounts despite the fact they usually requires a hammer to get them locked down and pry bar to unlock them.

Because they're a lower cost option to better products.
Want QD? Go LaRue. Want bolt on? Go Geissele. |

Interesting. View Quote if; 1. the mounts locking levers are open and since the locking levers can lock into the closed position if you just close and lock the levers the problems solved. 2.the mounts locking tab must become twisted since the there is a detent that recesses the spring into the mount the locking base must become twisted quite some way. The locking base is also under tension from the springs which provide some resistance preventing the locking base from twisting. Thus removing the spring would require actual force being applied to the locking base to twist it and would only be possible with the levers open. IMO this is a non issue. I also prefer ADM mounts over any other reasonably priced QD mount including Larue. I would like to know what the OP was doing to remove the spring, I'm guessing it was intentional as that's the only way I see the springs coming out. |

Cleaning for one is a lot easier with the optic removed, some of my rifles simply won't fit in the desired cases with an optic in place, etc.... How about "because I want QD"? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

My optic was expensive I remove it all the time. Anytime the rifle's going in the safe or a range bag with other guns or anything else that could possibly scratch it.Sometimes I remove it to do viewing though it, MK8 glass is sweet. Also I move it forward on the rail to QD the PVS14 in to the aimpoint twist base with the TNVC ring to use the scope at night. Quoted:

Trying to justify your overpriced mount eh? Quoted:
Only so much room in my safes. I can fit more rifles with the optics removed and placed on the shelves. These days I keep a 65in/lb torque limiter around which works well on my G and NF Unimounts G mounts are nice but no option for mounting a Wilcox Raptar or Radius. They're also kinda spendy.
