So if there was a gun to your head and someone told you that you had to pick a new cast for a remake of "Smokey and the Bandit", who would you choose for the new actors? I know that nothing can replace the original.
Burt Reynolds: Matthew McConaughey (on the edge with this one) or maybe Anson Mount from Hell on Wheels Sally Fields: Reese Witherspoon Jerry Reed: stuck on this one Yes, I know that nothing would ever be as good as the original cast/actors, this is just a theoretical situation, look past the blasphemy. The 40th anniversary had me thinking...hopefully someone can come up with better ideas than me. These are very hard acts to follow. |

Bandit - Mcconaughey. Or Bradley Cooper if you want to go a little younger
Carrie - Amber Heard or Jennifer Lawrence Cledus - Billy Bob Thornton Buford T. Justice - he's irreplaceable, but I guess you could go with John Goodman |

Bandit: Norm MacDonald
Frog: Jennifer Love Hewitt Snowman: Doug Stanhope Buford T Justice: Artie Lange No that wouldn't work today, all white. They will have to insert a black person and a Hispanic in two of the four roles unless they can come up with a black Hispanic, a twofer. |

Scott H Biram is the man to play Snowman. Scott is a blues man out of Texas who is great live and very funny. He could do the part and redo the song. Can someone embed these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXj2sy3K9Rg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w_wyaXkqUM Oh yea, he can use his own dog https://i.ytimg.com/vi/98TnpdECZ98/maxresdefault.jpg View Quote |

I just watched this in a theater today. And it was awesome. No previews. Movie started immediately. Credits lasted about 3 minutes at the beginning and 5 minutes at the end.
Burt Reynolds: I dunno? Maybe Sterling Archer? Sally Fields: Heather Graham Jerry Reed: No idea. Jackie Gleason: Unpossible. Can't be done. Just leave it be. |

Well if casting a wicker basket full of a cobras...to throw the motherfucker who was thinking of remaking Smokey and the Bandit into isn't an option:
Bandit: Clayne Crawford Carrie: Natalie Zea Cledus/Snowman: Walton Goggins Smokey: Jim Beaver Junior: Timothy Oliphant Big Enos: Nick Searcy Little Enos: Damon Herriman Yes they were all in Justified, and yes it would work. |

Norm Macdonald as Bandit
Emily Ratajkowski as Carrie, in a thong and topless for the entire movie Jackie Chan as Cleedus And Kevin James as Smokey, but he rides a Segway All other parts would be played by monkeys dressed in civil war uniforms. |

That new Wonder Woman chick who was in fast and furious is a good choice.

Just saw it tonight, in theaters.
It should never be attempted again, although I'm sure Hollywood would love to fuck it up. I even drove my TA to the show lol |

I've never seen the movie. |

Bandit - Timothy Olyphant
Snowman - Tim McGraw Frog - Mila Kunis Sheriff - John Goodman Big Enos - Josh Brolin |

Would need to be either an all female cast or be very rich and vibrant to be remade today.
Bandit: Channing Tatum
Carrie: Emma Stone Cledus: Danny McBride Smokey: Samuel L. Jackson Junior: Dwayne Johnson Big Enos: Christopher Walken Little Enos: Steve Buscimi |
It was a product of its time, you couldn't really make a remake feel the same. What would they be hauling, weed? The CB radios wouldn't really work either, and everyone texting/Snapchatting would be lame. I saw the rerelease this past Sunday and it was just fine how it is.
That said: Bandit: Bradley Cooper Frog: Emma Stone Cletus: Kenny Powers BTJ: Jeff Bridges |
Use the cast of 'My Name is Earl'.
Jason Lee as the Bandit Jaime Pressley as Frog Eddie Steeples as Snowman Ethan Suplee as Buford T. Justice Giovanni Ribisi as Junior And and a new character, a friendly hooker played by Nadine Velazquez. She shows her tits all thru the movie. |
Most of my picks have already been mentioned
McConaughy as Bandit Kunis as frog McBride as snowman Goodman as the sheriff Will Ferrell as Jr Probably Sam Jackson and Kevin Hart as the Enos(s) as they would need to add some sort of color to get this made and I think they would do a decent job even though I dislike Hart |

Bandit: Matthew McConaughey
Frog: Kate Hudson Snowman: Kid Rock Smokey: ? If Burt Reynolds were younger and in better health I'd say him. Junior: Rob Riggle |

Easy.. Ryan Reynalds as lead View Quote That's...not half bad. Bandit: Ryan Reynolds Frog: Kate Hudson Snowman: Seth Rogan B. T. Justice: Dwayne Johnson (fucking musclehead continually surprises me with just how good of an actor he is) Junior: Keegan Michael Key The idea of Christopher Walken and Steve Buscemi as Big and Little Enos is inspired. I like it! They can "hobbitize" Buscemi a la Peter Jackson for added comic effect. |
I have an idea!!
Bandit - Melissa McCarthy Snowman - Kristen Wiig Frog - Chris Hemsworth Sheriff - Leslie Jones Big Enos - Kate McKinnon |
Bandit: Some black guy. Doesn't matter who as long as he's black.
Frog: Whoever the hottest girl is at the moment. Snowman: Matthew McConaughey Buford T Justice: Matthew McConaughey in fat man suit and makeup. |
Bandit: Andy Samberg
Carrie: Amy Schumer Cleedus: Aziz Ansari Buford T Justice: Seth Rogen Junior: Melissa McCarthy ETA: Partially beat like a rented redhead |
Bandit - Gary Oldman
Frog - Milla Jovovich or Kate Beckinsale Cletus - Randy Travis Justice - John Goodman Junior - Josh Brolin |
Matthew McConaughey? what's he gonna drive, a fuckin' Lincoln?
