I came here for hawk pics, not blue squares.
How did the hawk befriend you? |
|
I have a pair of hawks hanging around, they sit a top a cell tower nearby.
Once in awhile I'm fortunate enough to see one swoop down and get a squirrel from my back yard. |
|
Bottom one works now OP, also looks awesome.
Whatever you're doing, do it to the other pictures. |
|
I loaded my photos into google photos today because the old pic hosting service I was using took forever to download, damn man. Going back to the old.
Dont know why they are not working |
|
I feed all the squirrels I kill in my back yard to owls and hawks

I see a few of the pics, beautiful bird and quite remarkable that it will get that close to you.
ETA: I'm seeing the 3 photos from the Shutterfly host, not the google pics. |

Google fucked up photo sharing when they switched from Picasa to Photos. You can't just take the link from a photo in Photos and post it to a forum. The user has to be authenticated (signed into your account) to be able to see the image. Good thing ARFCOM now allows posting of photos by actually uploading them. View Quote |

Very cool, OP. Tell us more about her. View Quote She was caught in a net at my driving range about 3 years ago, I cut her loose and she started letting me get real close to her while mowing. I bought some mice from the pet store and dropped them by as I passed by. She then started to follow me around every day. I lured her in close to the building and then switched her to stir fry steak, mice were running $40 a week. She takes off every oct/nov and returns around late April. She raised two young last year and has one or two in the nest this year I think, she takes it from me and feeds them. Attached File Attached File |

Very cool, would love to be able to have a hawk for a buddy. Wonder how long they live in the semi wild lol.

Many of my customers are wowed by her, some have fed here a few times, she has to get to know a person a little. She did bight me hard today but she didn't draw blood this time. I have to be careful, she gets excited some times.
She came in a 7:30 am and again around 4 pm today. I never know when she will show up while she is on the nest, when the young are out she will be more regular. |
|
Awesome pics OP-glad you were able to save her from the net. The two attempted raptor rescues I've been involved with didn't work out as well. Love seeing the successes!
