Kris 'Tanto' Paronto Has Used the Same 'Frankenstein' AR Since 2005 And we're off... |

I still have my first AR too, although last year I replaced the rail.
Am I supposed to know who that guy is? |

I have a very similar Bushmaster. It has a Daniel Defense Omega rail, and the standard M4 buttstock with a saddle attachment. I use an EOTech instead of an AimPoint. It's been in that configuration for over a decade and I have no plans to change it.

|
My LMT carbine (2008) was similarly equipped with an Omega carbine rail until I made it a 10.5" with a different barrel.
I couldn't afford to keep the original barrel for it and make it a SBR, so I sold the 16" barrel and bolt. I might have to find a way to build my original carbine in the coming months. That was a fun rifle. |

Okay, bushmaster has had problems but it's not like every gun they made sucked.

Out of all my AR's my "go to" gun is my oldest AR. Big MI quad rail, Eotech 512 and all. It works so I haven't had a need to change anything.

I've been equally pleased with my old Bushmaster as Tanto is with his. I'll never get rid of this rifle.

Still have my first two Bushmasters. Only thing still original on them is the lower.

I still have the first Bushmaster complete lower I bought back in 1996. Mt Spikes dedicated .22 upper sit under it. I SBR'd it in 2005 and had a 10.5" LMT upper on it for a while. Never had any issues with Bushmaster.

I have a camo'd Bushmaster from about 2006 or so. JP trigger springs, otherwise bone stock. One of my best rifles.

I know him because he is local to me and he does a fair amount of speeches and presentations , but I could not tell you the names of any of the other guys from Benghazi Kind of feel bad about that View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I saw the movie but had no idea who he was. Kind of feel bad about that Thought to be fair, I actually got to meet Tanto. He reminds me of me, only tough. Though now that I recall, one of the guys names was a fake. |

You don't see that old school Dieter CQD vertical grip very often.

If you have a rifle that is reliable and does what you need it to do, I don't see any point to constantly changing it for every new fad.

Met him at Hoover Tactical to get his booked signed. Amazingly nice guy. He had a massive line but got up and shook the hands of everyone he met. He smiled for pictures and talked with everyone. Near the end his handler tried getting things moving quicker so she said he wouldn't do the standing and photo ops, he ignored her and continued taking his time with everyone. Incredibly humble and nice guy.

My first I built in '95 100% DPMS, not franken but supposedly garbage. Still works great did finally break a firing pin a couple years ago. Just replaced the A2 upper receiver so I could put a scope on it.

I'd take a frankengun I built myself over a factory gun, because I know it was built right.

I'm proud to know them all by heart. Thought to be fair, I actually got to meet Tanto. He reminds me of me, only tough. View Quote especially when some SJW accuses him of being a racist as he is Indian/Hispanic or something like that and he loves to hammer um over the head with that fact |

For the old farts (i.e. more than 10 years ago), Bushmaster was synonymous with Blackwater.

Probably like a FSP through just about any red dot. Was that a trick question? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Wonder what the FSP looks like through the aimpoint. . . The front sight post is slightly blurred on both, on the variable at 4x it can not really be seen. |
