I bet he gets a lot of repeat customers. He also seems to think his profession is on the same playing field as doctors dentists and lawyers. A profession is a profession from the garbage man to the surgeon. |

If I go out in my garage and smash dogshit with a hammer, does that suddenly make me a tradesman who is worthy of charging people just to talk to them? |

You genuises defending this fuckwit need to take a good look at his gallery of work and if you still think he qualifies as a "tradesman", you're just as retarded as he is. Guy really should charge a subscription price to let you read the website.
Took a lot of his very valuable time to write it! |

I never met a gunsmith that wasn't a fucking prick. That includes asking questions, purchasing and or having work done. Those buttercups should try working pc repair if they think they have it hard. Everybody's time is worth money. There is no "special time" worth more for a specific job set. PS: If you're one of the nice guy gunsmith's good for you and I'm sure your customers really appreciate it! View Quote Somarriba |

I've been in Law Enforcement for 21 years. I can't imagine any agency letting (key word) their Officers take parts off of anything to sell. Much less firearms. I'm sure some crooked Cops got ahold of something here and there, but for the most part I'm calling him a liar. |

He says police officer and not agencies. So he's cool with cops stripping parts off guns and bringing them to him so he can use them? If they are to be destroyed, they should be and not parted out by scrappers. If the agency wants to sell parts, that's up to them but it sure looks like he profits off of confiscated guns. However... I am willing to barter for old handgun parts or broken guns! I have in past years made many ongoing arrangements with Police officers to trade gun parts (stripped from confiscated handguns) in trade for my custom work & repairs. (FYI, when handguns are scheduled for destruction it is usually only the frame that is required to be destroyed as that is the ONLY part of a handgun that is legally the "gun" and registered, so all remaining parts including barrel, slide, and all small parts, are considered scrap and/or non-essestial parts and have no legal binding for destruction). I welcome any similar trades or bartering as I am always in need of parts, all makes/models are welcome, I dont care if it is junky Davis/Jennings crap, or good SigSauer/S&W etc parts, all are usable for me sooner or later. I read some of the stuff on his site. He charges more than the factories themselves for the work. |

Right? The superseding indictment also charged Rafael Valdes with transporting stolen firearm parts from the Hialeah Police Department where he was employed in the training section. During trial, the evidence showed that Rafael Valdes took apart firearms that were in evidence at the Hialeah Police Department and deemed to be destroyed. Rafael Valdes then advertised those parts for sale on the Internet and later transported those parts to buyers located across the United States, including New York, California, Utah, and Missouri. Rafael Valdes then deposited the proceeds into his personal bank account. In addition to selling parts of firearms that were once in evidence, Rafael Valdes also sold machine gun parts taken from six different Heckler and Koch MP-5 machine guns that had been utilized by the Hialeah Police Department SWAT team. |
