I have a terrible memory and there are a lot of little details that I don't remember. When I am questioned on them, and can't recall what my rifle serial number was or roster number or class number, people might think I'm a poser. There are a few people on this board that know me personally from my days in the 82nd and when I was in the reserves at Ft. Gillem Georgia with the 1/347th. I hardly talk to anyone anymore about my service because of my memory issues. Lately it seems to be getting a little worse, but I can still recall rough dates of classes I've attended, but things like names of fellow class members and instructors are pretty much gone by now.

I do remember my two drill Sergeants names from B Co. 2/58 Ft. Benning though. SSG Williams and SFC Jones. SSG Williams was a big 300lb black guy that terrified the ever loving shit out of me. He had a CIB and Master Parachute wings. Hey may of had a Ranger Tab and scroll for his combat patch (don't really recall). SFC Jones scared the shit out of me too but for different things. He was a quiet sadistic fuck that seemed to enjoy mind games. All he had was an EIB and he seemed proud of the fact it took him only 8 years to get it. Both were very effective instructors and I learned a lot from those two NCO's.

I don't remember my rifle serial number from boot camp either.

Too many rifle and pistol serial numbers issued to me over 25 years.

I do however still have my boot camp lock and remember the combo.

On the 2nd day of boot camp I couldn't remember it and the receiving DI had to get the sealed envelope with the combo and open it.

He was NOT amused and ohhhhhh did I pay for that.

I never had a problem opening it since.

I know all my general orders.  I can't put them in the exact numerical order though.

I did a career in the Corps so lots of that EST/BST knowledge stuff is permanently programmed in my brain housing group try as I may to purge some of it.

I always thought it would be cool if someone traveled Iraq and Afghanistan from FOB to FOB and photographed all the porta-shitter graffiti and then put it in a book.

Nothing but page after page of porta-shitter graffiti pics.

There's some talented porta-shitter graffiti artists out there.

LOL No, not a wizard. All masterlocks have the same combo scheme. Plus there's a fairly easy way to figure the middle and last number out by manipulating the lock, leaving you with only 10 possible combos.

It's pretty useful as a party trick or for playing pranks on people. IM me if you want to know more
