Saw this thing parked at WalMart today. Pretty badass. I'll take one of these over an RV any day when I retire.

I wish I had snapped a pic of how the spare tire was mounted. It was very clever. It was recessed into the back panel

The wife's been bugging me for some kind of travel trailer and I've been refusing because I don't want to maintain or drive it.  But I could almost agree to one of those...assuming I could find a way to afford it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go be poor somewhere else.

I saw one in DePere, WI...

It looked awesome, then I went to their website.

They are expensive.  So a bugout/camping trailer with a Tacoma or 4 Runner with Roof Tent thing seems like a better option.

Their size limits their off-road potential.  Only the smallest wheelbase made sense to me.  Since I want something for an adventure vehicle.  I thought a KLR would do, but then I thought about practicality and comfort.

Super sexy vehicle though.

I saw an identical one pulling into a WalMart here in Missoula, MT.  I wonder if it's the same guy... there can't be that many of those rides out there.

Exactly. That pictured vehicle has a departure angle and rampover angle of a Honda Accord plus a longer turning radius... but hey it looks cool

Nice, but not aww inspiring for me.  Starting with a vehicle not known for a smooth ride, then put a high center of gravity load on it.  Then drive on the interstate at 80mph and tell me if it is relaxing and enjoyable.

Yup.

Got to tour a few of them at Overland Expo a few years ago.
Nice but holyshit expensive.

Sportsmobile 4x4 vans (also not cheap) are pretty common amongst the well heeled baja/surfer crowd around here. I see quite a few of them pretty regularly.

Those aren't cheap either but very, very nice.

Considering one (An AT Habitat, that one is a Flippac) on a 2nd gen Tacoma instead of a 4th gen 4runner.
Girlfriend wants the 4runner though.

Yeah, Earthroamers are inspired by expedition style vehicles, just on big American pickups.

I'd argue that Tacoma should be a Land Cruiser or 4Runner for authenticity.

They ride great on the interstate. No issues at all.

I'll bet that it has very soft driver's seat cushions. That way, your ass isn't sore from clenching the seat all day, especially every time you're passed by a semi-truck or bus.
