Nintendo Switch is the new console nintendo came out with.

Nintendo made them taste terrible so kids don't try to swallow them because they are small.

Millennials became tasting them and it became an internet thing to do because people under 30 are mostly retarded.

EDIT: Beat by 20 seconds.

While I know what the Nintendo Switch is, I didn't know about this trend.

If you haven't googled it yet - Nintendo coated the game cartridges (about the size of an SD card) with a chemical that has a very bitter taste. This is supposedly to keep small children from putting the cartridge in their mouths and possibly swallowing it.

So, of course people are daring each other to lick them on purpose to see the reactions.

When you tell someone NOT to do something - they do it. Because people are smart.

Sounds like an effective marketing strategy from Nintendo?...

More of a deterrent so effective that it now promotes the actual action they are trying to deter, but in a different demographic.

It did work crazily enough. Their annual donations went from like a couple mil or something small anyways to like a 100 mil or some other big number that year. Cant remember exact numbers and to lazy to go google it but it was several times what they usally get.

Too bad they can't make them poisonous to adults but safe for innocent children.

If you're an adult and dumb enough to lick a Nintendo cartridge, you deserve at the very least, a case of the green apple splatters.
