Yeah, but with my Buick I expect it from time to time with people wondering if it's a GN and the fact that it sounds awesome after the engine swap.

What really suprises me is my dads truck.  A 92 dodge w250 diesel.  Guys come up to it all the time commenting on it and wanting to buy it.  There's no rust but it is banged up as all hell after 25 years of work. It's also the worst truck off road ever with out 4x4.

My old 350z that I lowered, debadged and moderately blacked out used to get all kinds of comments. Id come out of a store and there frequently were people admiring it. Id also have folks row their window down to say somethung.

When I got my (used and several years old by then) 1981 Z28 I remember people looking at it and one guy calling it a "Batman car".  I guess it was kind of unusual since it still had all the spoilers/air dam/fender flares/working cowl induction, etc. on it.  I remember people asking what the noise was when I stomped the gas pedal down.  I had to tell them it was the noise of the carb sucking in air right there in front of the windshield vs. from under the hood.  Then I'd have to prove it to them by hitting the pedal, letting off of it, hitting it again, etc. while they looked at the little doors on the back of the hood scoop and hear the sound change.

When I got my 1986 IROC (used and several years old by then) it had 295/50/16's on the back and the standard 245/50/16's on the front.  I'd have people follow me down the road and when I parked it they ask where I got the car, where I got the tires, how it handled, etc.  One funny thing about the IROC.  I bought it at a small town in southern VA, right across the border from NC.  It had no front license plate holder on it so it wasn't originally sold in VA.  Many years ago, you could write a letter to a certain office/address within Chevrolet and give them your VIN# and they'd mail you a copy of the original window sticker.  I got one for my 83 Z28.  They couldn't give me one for that IROC.  The reason they gave for that was because they didn't keep records for "corporate cars."  A "corporate" IROC Z28?  What corporation would buy an IROC Z28 with a TPI V8?

My current car is a 2011 Genesis Coupe (3.8 Track with a 6 speed).  I get two types of comments on it.  Large older black women tell me it's cute and they really like it.  Old white guys tell me the color is too bright/loud.  It's Interlagos Yellow, a color they only made for a couple of years early in the production of that car/body.

My 2012 Camaro SS.....bought 5 months ago .....with 4600 miles on it. I'd post pics when I figure out how to transfer them.

Until then.....Silver....with wide stripes.....hockey stick on the side.....67 body style....and still has the new car smell in the interior.

girls at the bank drive-thru get a tingle in their undies when I go thru....and tell me about it.

Interesting.  Chicks never really cared anything about my RX-7.  I get a ton of attention from dudes though.  In fact the last time I drove it to work some guy next to me at a stop light took a picture with his phone then gave me a thumbs up

I had a completely stock 2008 F150 FX4 Supercrew that used to get compliments all the time. It was black with body colored bumpers, head light trim, mirrors, grill, and door handles. Looked soooo much better than the base textured plastic door handles, chromed bumpers, etc. People used to stop me all the time and ask me where I got the stuff to "black it out like that." "Uh, it came from the factory that way."

I also had a 2004 Z06 that never failed to draw someone who wanted to play 20 questions while I was pumping gas. Always ended with the classic, "What's the payment like on that thing?" It was fun watching their response to, "What payment?"

I get a lot of compliments on my CTS, yes.

Usually followed by a comment about how much money I must make.

Ahh . . . the power of buying used!

Holy shit.. damn near everywhere I go someone asks about it.  Random people parking near it and taking pics of it.  People pulling up to me as I walk towards a store to ask about it.  Last weekend I heard some guy yelling to his friends across a parking lot (as in "hey guys!  A Focus RS!") as I drove past the parking lot.

I had a '88 K5 Blazer and would get a compliment every month or so. Old square body truck.
(They are even doing a series of episodes on Gearz currently on these. Guess I should have kept it. )

Never when I drove my '79 Z-28 or whenever I take my '75 Stingray out.

I do. My work car is a '15 Focus hatchback, titanium trim in ruby red. It's a POS, and I'd recommend that no one ever buy one.
Having said that, I've had a ton of complements, questions, etc. from strangers. An administrator at my daughter's school flagged me down in the carpool lane to ask what it was.

I'm completely baffled by it, but it's true.

Very cool car.  I'd car stalk a GT350.

I've had my GT for over 10 years now.  It still attracts attention, starts conversations, and is the target of cell phone pics.  Part of the fun of owning the car is chatting about it with other gearheads.

1980 Chevy K20.  Not pristine, but not a rust bucket like most trucks that age around here.  Lots of compliments from strangers.  Right after I bought it I had it in the shop and the owner called and said a customer wanted to know if it was for sale.
