I think I paid around $850 or so for my Colt XSE, it's been flawless so far, about 2000 rounds.

I'm a fan of S&W, though not particularly familiar with Springfield Armory.
Springfield Armory previously made it clear they didn't want to sell to me, so I don't buy from them. |

I got my eye on one of the new Colt competition models. A little more expensive than the RO, but it has a match barrel, G10 grips, and Novak sights with fiber optic front. A lot of value in that one.

Look at Colt for 1911's as well as other brands. Was eye fondling an XDM 45, but that got scrapped due to the political stunt SA just pulled. Maybe sig is in my future?
