So we hit a swam of bee's a few weeks ago in my wife's new 4runner. It sounded like someone hit our car with a shotgun. There were at least a few hundred dead bees on the wind shield and grill. We have run it through the car was 4 times, sprayed it with Windex cleaner, and it still won't come clean. The car wash guy who comes to my work want's $100 to use a bar on it. Any cheaper ideas?

Someone told me Dawn works well on bug gunk stuck to your car. Haven't tried it yet though.

Soak the front with bug and tar remover.  Let it sit in the shade for a bit, blot off with a cheap microfiber.  Apply again and hit it with a pressure washer.

Soak a paper towel in your windex and let it lay on the guts for 15 minutes.  Rewet with windex.  Wipe clean.

Wait for a rainy day soaker, let it sit outside for a few hours, go out and wash your car with a good automotive soap and mitt. It'll come right off once it has softened from the rain water for a few hours.

At this point, it needs the clay bar. You can DIY, clay bars are cheap. Just make sure to use plenty of lube ( I know, I know.)

It does work, used to keep a spray bottle with a diluted solution of water and Hydrogen Peroxide to clean the bugs off the Harley.

PPC Bug Melt is sold at the local pilot shop because aircraft owners use it on their bug smashers (prop planes).  Nothing I know of works better. Other bug remover sprays sold in auto parts stores are useless in my experience.

ETA: I use it every time I wash my motorcycle with no ill effects.

This. I live in FL and we sometimes fight love bugs.

Also a bounce dryer sheet does wonders for gently removing the critter.

Drive into a crowd of protesters(Antifa or BLM, your choice)

The natural acids in the blood will dissolve the bugs. Then raccoons will lick it clean.

As a professional detailer who only uses 3D products, I can agree with this.

Also, don't waste time with microfiber or those netted style sponges. Best bug sponge ever is in the link below. Sponge, coupled with good soapy water or bug remover and it will easily wipe off.

Best bug sponge ever!!!

Zep liquid glass cleaner is excellent on bugs on glass.

Hydrogen peroxide takes bugs off paint.  So does WD 40.  I just use Simple Green.  I pre-treat with a 25% solution of the heavy duty stuff that is actually pink.  Let is soak, wash that spot first, wash your car, and then wash the front again.  This works especially well in the shade, so use a car wash stall if your must.

How is their detailing spray?  The pro-grade products tend to be better and cheaper by volume.

Do they have a tire treatment that works as well as Zaino?

Detailing spray is gtg. I use Final Touch religiously. Buy it buy the gallong and get the OSHA bottle to refill. Even in direct sunlight it works good and wipes off without smearing.  As far as coatings go, their HD Poxy has been great and after 3 years of over 150+ applications, it is my go-to coating. As for tires, if you are use to Zaino, than you will be more than pleased with HD Dress

I would also like to add that while WD-40 won't really remove your wax or paint coatings, things such as simple green and other various degreasers will. This will cause those areas to be stripped of the protectant/wax. Just something else to ponder.

to truly get all the contaminants off, just clay bar it yourself, it's really easy. spray a soapy water solution or windex on the area, wipe it down with the clay bar and then wash off afterwards, done. clay bar is the only way to get all the imbedded shit out of the paint.

Hot water, spray bottle, any car wash. I usually put the water in the microwave. Put some car wash in the hot water, spray it on the bugs, wait 10-15 mins, and wipe em off.

If it starts drying before 10-15 mins, spray it again, the trick is keeping it wet.

You welcome.

You can buy a clay bar kit at walmart for like $15.  It's stupid easy.  Wash car.  Spray the clay lube on the car, rub clay bar on the lubed area until it glides smoothly.

My father used coke to remove bugs from his windshield. He would soak it for a few minutes, scrub with a sponge, and rinse with the hose. It seemed to work well, but I was just a kid. It is cheap so it might be worth a try.

Or Meguiar's Super Degreaser, that's what I use. I'm going to have to do my truck again pretty soon, I just spray it down good, let it soak a few minutes, then wash with my normal wash mit and rewax when I'm done.
