Disallowing any cheats like greatest hits or soundtracks - gonna have to go with GNR - Appetite. Though I realize a lot of folks hate Axl so I will accept Back in Black as well. If you open the net to include grunge then I think Pearl Jam Ten is well up there.
Those three albums really stick out in my head as collectively good full albums... on a very short list of ones that I will happily listen to all the way through or mixed up in any fashion. I can think of albums with a few songs I like better... but entire albums? My top 3 for sure. |

Wow that is subjective and for me it changes with my mood of what I want to hear. I'm going to try to think of some that aren't listed already. Joe Walsh - The Smoker You Drink The Player You Get (listen to it with headphones, light a candle and you'll see your entire future. ) Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars The Doors - the Doors Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story Led Zep - IV (Zoso or Runes... pick a name) The list is loooong. Well, does Steely Dan qualify as rock? I suppose they are sort of a jazz-pop-rock fusion. In my estimation the greatest album fitting this description is Steely Dan's "Aja."
Led Zeppelin IV also ranks extremely high. |

[#39]
Yeah; I'm gonna have to go with Hanson's acoustic album, or maybe something from Tom Waits samba/jazz period.
Right after Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell, of course. |
