I blame Herb Kelleher and his cheap fares. Flying used to be different than taking the bus.

So if you were sitting next to your wife on a plane and told for no reason to get off you would? View Quote No it would not be right for you to be told to get off in that scenario. You should not be forcibly removed. The problem is that a Cop who is told to remove the looney tune running her mouth - will be hesitant to remove said looney tune for fear of the video of the incident making it appear that he was removing a black woman for no reason. No one is saying that the police should be able to rip people off the plane for no reason. What's being said is that the fact that there was extreme backlash against pulling someone off the plane (regardless of whether it was right or not) will make police think twice about removing people in the future, whether justified or not in doing so. That's the problem......that when you have the crazy person the cop will be afraid of getting crucified and losing his job. So the rest of the plane will be fucked. |

Its funny that absolutely no one is blaming the TSA, FAA, and DHS for this since its their regulations and laws that force airlines to remove people, violently if needed.
And zero blame assigned to the muslims for flying planes into buildings prompting all this in the first place. |

You have no constitutional right to be there. You only have whatever right was granted you by the contract (ticket) you entered into with the airline. At the point you refuse lawful order to get off, you are trespassing and trespassers may be legally removed with violence if necessary whether it's from a plane, a business or my property. |

Not true. There was a lawyer on one of the Fox News shows who said the doctor's removal was not legal.
Passengers do have certain rights once they are actually in the seat with a valid ticket. Essentially the passenger has to drunk, physically ill or disruptive to be deplaned. You cannot eject a paid, seated, otherwise compliant passenger because of overbooking. The usual course of action is to raise the offer of compensation until someone volunteers. |

FAs will ask and if the person doesn't respond, they will call for the the police. They are not going to be confrontational. It is not worth their job and having the negative publicity for the airline. There will be people like this woman acting up and looking for a paycheck because someone will film and post it on Youtube Police are not going to get an uncooperative person off a plane now without deplaning everyone. They are not going to want to be filmed either. People will miss connections and flights will be delayed. This will be the new normal now. Live with it. |

I hate how today's technology is making high school kids commit suicide, and every little stupid event causes phones to be whipped out and used to create national news.
The Internet will be the downfall of civilization, I've said this way back before iPhones existed. Too many infrastructure devices which survived decades without Internet access suddenly are online - as if the Internet is a solid and reliable utility. We have power outages being blamed on hacking, and meanwhile airplanes are getting online and driverless vehicles are being designed - as if we need this. I don't want to imagine what else is being taken out of our control and handed over to robots. HAL9000 is a term this new generation has to Google... in fact, this generation would be lost without Google. Totally. Lost. Third world countries will be laughing at the catastrophes we A.) programed assuming computers never make mistakes B.) coded by H1B foreigners who get paid less and really don't give a shit about America, and C.) the assumption that electricity, water, and Internet are utilities that are stable and friendly. |
