For grinns- Valmet M62 with a bunch of Finn produced ammo(since that would be your only source).

No; that would be the Browning Hi-Power. Three, plus, decades earlier.

If my memory serves me correct the term wondernine applied to 9mm pistols that combined the double column magazine of the HP and the double action/single action trigger of the Walther P38.

Possibly a Para FAL, in lieu of the M14, but 1911 for sure, AK ammo availability would be an issue here, and anything that a 1911 might need, I've done. Revolver would be a model 25 Smith, or a 1917 if I needed it shorter.

Colt SP1. Not too picky on the service pistol. S&W 19, 1911, S&W 59 or Hi Power would all work.

I "had" both....the Hi-Power's gone.

Glock17 did not exist at the time, so I'll go with an M1911.

Either a Garand (BM59 if available) and a Sig 210.

Or an AUG and a CZ75.

Might be expensive, but worth it.

Hi-Power had the greater than ten round capacity but wasn't a DA/SA. First 9mm DA/SA was the P.38

the S&W Model 59 was the first to bring the capacity and the DA/SA trigger together

M1 Carbine with jacketed soft points & 1911A1 in .45acp because 9 mm ammo sucked until recently

I don't believe AUG or CZ75 were being imported.

At that time in my life I was carrying a TRW M14 (1490317) and one of several different 1911A1s (no Colt's, the armory only had Remington Rands, Ithacas, Singers, etc.  They were all well used, sloppy, noisy, went bang every time and knocked down the pop ups from 10 to 50 meters every time.

No reason to ask for or carry anything else.  Those two worked and worked very well for me.
