I want a new fun gun. I have a 590 Shockwave on reserve... but now I really want a scorpion pistol... I'm trying to decide which I want now(will eventually get both).

The 590 would be more of a truck/house gun and the scorpion would be the same but more of a range gun plus I can use it as a host for my suppressor... and would eventually form 1 it.

If you were picking right now...?

The Scorpion is blast to shoot. Not sure how much fun the shockwave would be after a couple of rounds.

The Scorpion will have more lasting power as a fun gun.  The Shockwave is cool, but I think the novelty will wear off quick.

My braced, suppressed Scorpion is still a crowd pleaser when we go out shooting.

Fuck that dumbass shockwave. Don't fall for the hype. It's like 2" less than a standard pistol-grip shotty. Get a Scorpion.

Trick question. CZ Scorpion with a Shockwave, unless you're going to SBR it.

590 Shockwave - $350 MSRP

Neither.

I got rid of my bib overalls and my skinny jeans.
I wouldn't have a thing to wear to the range.

SBR the CZ so that it's useful.

Pistol grip only shotguns are perhaps the most retarded firearms on the fucking planet.

Yeah... I kinda knew the answer... I ordered a fixed barrel spacer and some 30rd mags even before I made up my mind.... just cancelled my 590 reserve and ordered the CZ.

That Shockwave will be fun for exactly one hour. Novelty.

Scorpion will be fun for many hours and you can upgrade it which is good for even more hours of fun.

I can't comment on the shockwave (it's not been to the range), but I've taken my Scorpion exactly twice in the years I've owned it. I grab the AR pistol every time over it.

The Scorpion is nearly unmatched in terms of utility, size, reliability, cost.

Its cheaper than an AR SBR and way more portable. Accurate as hell at 50 yards, reliable as any AR/AK I've ever worked with. A Scorpion with a folding brace will fit in a laptop bag. Excellent emergency-type gun.

The Shockwave is cool but no more or less practical than an 18 inch pistol gripped shotgun, which isn't a whole hell of a lot bigger

Could you expound on that?  Why do you choose your AR over the Scorpion?

I think in general I'll get much more use out of the CZ. But like I said... I will eventually get a shockwave... maybe when supply is higher and the cost drops some. I'm sure some will eventually start popping up in the EE.

I have the Scorpion and although it is an awesome SBR, I think it sucks as a pistol......  but, then again the shotgun with no stock as small as it is I am thinking aint that practical either; So go for which ever one you think you will shoot more.

I say Scorpion. Presently waiting on the Form 1 and debating what variety of optic to put on it. Love shooting it with irons though.

Yeah... I'm really... really happy with my choice... just went for a ride and stopped by one of the local shops and they had a shockwave($419)... I was not as impressed in person as I was with pics and video. It's seems...ok... and I may end up getting one... but it's definitely not as high up in my list now.

Scorpion hands down, just make sure to replace the right hand side safety. Some Use a blank, but I went with the HB industries Mini AK switch.

That ambi safety will drive you nuts after a few magazines.

Shockwave seems like something I'd buy take it to the range a few times then stick in the back of my safe, I love my scorpion pistol have a brace on it and getting the form1 paperwork ready to send in.

That's awesome.  I have to give CZ a lot of credit.  They filled one of the largest voids in the U.S. market.

I agree... and I hate to admit it... but I didn't even really know what it was until a couple weeks ago... every single time I saw something regarding the "CZ Scorpion" it didn't click and I automatically assumed it was the VZ61... I'm so ashamed.

If the NFA and import bans go away, we can save $200 + $50 (how much does engraving cost?) + ~$100 for 922r parts and have the stock installed from the factory. We'd probably see them sell at $900 complete all said and done, maybe less. Would be awesome because it would be one new firearm that is affordable and actually pretty decent.

They sure did and they were able to do so with an affordable option. HK could have dominated the market but they were 3 years late and $2k overpriced.
