Dibs on his guns! Update: Tims response pulled from page 4 "Thanks for the support guys. The brace thing is something that is as clear as mud to me, most gun owners and perhaps even to the BATFE. Here's how I view things; The BATFE holds to this day that a factory installed brace on a factory pistol is just that; a pistol or handgun. It is NOT a rifle per their own determination. There is no way on earth you can "misuse" a handgun by how you fire it and "redesign" it into a rifle or illegal SBR. That's like saying if I use a hammer to pound a screw into a block of wood, I have redesigned that hammer into a screw driver. No, it's still hammer. I just used it in a manner that it wasn't intended to be used. If I took a picture of the hammer before using it as a screw driver and after having used it as a screw driver then posted the pics to the internet, could someone tell which picture of the hammer was taken before using it as screw driver and after? Probably not. I did not buy this pistol to be a rifle. I bought it as a pistol with the intent to use it as a pistol. It has never been my intent to make or redesign a handgun into an illegal firearm. I purchased this 100% OEM handgun as a handgun and use it as such. Both handguns featured in this video were fired by incidentally touching a part of my body other than just my hand(s). If both are handguns in the eyes of the BATFE, how is it then by firing them in an unconventional manner one is still a handgun and the other isn't? How in the world could you justify that logic in court? The determination letter issued before SHOT Show a couple years ago was not a law, it was an opinion. I'm not even sure the ATF itself agrees with this opinion internally. They must realize they've created an untenable position here. I do not believe I broke any laws. I believe I fired two handguns and nothing more. It was not my intent to do anything illegal nor was it my intent to circumvent the NFA by purchasing my Uzi Pro pistol with a IWI/SB Tactical brace installed. So far I've not been contacted by any law enforcement agencies. If I find myself in some sort of legal trouble for seeking clarification to this ongoing issue, I will let you know. If I am charged with a crime, I may have to reach out to our community via GoFundMe to defend myself as well as defending our collective rights. As I've said though, I don't believe I've done anything illegal as it was not my intent to break any laws. " |

Fuck yes. Make the alphabet boys have to actually do something about it. Get a judgement that says they are full of shit and back to the way things were when braces first came out. Thank you Mac. Please post a link to the go fund me after he gets his shiny new bracelets.

The ATF is going to get tired of this shit soon enough and just ban the braces altogether and claim they're all stocks. IMO, they tried to offer a compromise, but they realize how complicated it's become.
Not that I think any of it should be illegal anyway, but they tried to play ball and people tried to mess with the rules of the game again. Sooner or later, they're just going to come along and take the ball away again |

Are you sure he doesn't have a sbr stamp for it? You people are making assumptions.

FATF repeatedly. |

Well considering it was an ATF opinion letter that sparked all this and not written law, I'd say he's going to be just fine.

Tim's a good guy, but his "celebrity" as a YouTube gun video person has gone to his head and now he is doing nearly anything as "click bait" ... good luck, Tim, when the ATF opens up an investigation on you and your Copper Customs gun shop.

According to the plain wording of the law, it's not illegal to shoulder a sig brace.
If I put a revolver against my shoulder and fire it, is it an unstamped SBR? If I use two hands to shoot my Glock, is it an unstamped AOW? Shouldering a sig brace isn't illegal either. The ATF can get fucked with their rulings. |

I tell you what, hold your breath waiting for the ATF to prosecute some guy for adding a pistol grip to his Saiga. Good fucking luck with that. |

the kid from t-rex arms on you tube shoulders a mk18 ar pistol with a brace a few times in his video.
I initially saw it as a huge no-no, but then I realized the video does not actually show the stock touching his shoulder (due to smart editing) |

Those braces have been out for what, 2-3 years? The "opinion" for over a year.
Thousands upon thousands sold. Many to some really stupid people. There would no doubt be at least one arrest/conviction for shouldering by now if this really was a thing. |
