Next video, be sure to watch your levels ... the sound can go from very low (turn up the speakers all the way to hear), then in the next scene the cones are blown clear out of the speakers. Yikes!

On Arfcom, diet(ing) threads rank up there with public school teacher wages/tenure threads, pitbull threads, and 9mm vs 45mm threads. I needed to lose close to 25 lbs a few years ago and after reading all about keto, atkins, etc. I decided to just cut back on carbs (fewer sandwiches for lunch and bread with dinner), snacking (no in between meal snacks), soda pop (went from like 2 a day to a few per week), and deserts (nightly desert to like once per week). Lost my 25 lbs in about 4 months. From my experience when it comes to dieting what works for one person may not work for the next. Yes there are some tenants of dieting and eating healthy (e.g. if you need 1,500 calories per day getting all 1,500 from twinkies and beer probably isn't a well-rounded diet), but really you just need to find what works for you. Good luck OP! View Quote |

That's real retarded. Doesn't anyone have any common sense anymore? Anyone who needs a real diet plan just ask. But the problem is you won't do it. And that's why you find yourself needing a diet plan in the first place. The problem isn't your diet, the problem is you. Thus addressing your diet isn't going to fix the real problem. View Quote I may be interested in a diet plan. I'm a power lifter, 195 pounds, want to drop to 185 by summer while retaining or even improving my combine(bench/squat/dead). Audio is the hardest part for me. If I put the camera in auto, it's really bad. I have been just adjusting the volume, but It's way too quiet, so I have to turn it way up. It's still too quiet. I can see where the music is too loud in transitions. I'll pay a little more attention to that. View Quote |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes After 6 months of receiving the ketogenic diet, the mean LDL cholesterol level increased 50 mg/dL (1.30 mmol/L), reflecting a mean shift of almost 2 SDs (Table 2). The mean LDL cholesterol level of 148 mg/dL (3.83 mmol/L) after the ketogenic diet reflects a value that is considerably higher than the 95th percentile (130 mg/dL [3.37 mmol/L]) for this age group. The mean total cholesterol level also increased markedly to 232 mg/dL (6.01 mmol/L), 2 SDs higher than the mean for a reference healthy population, and notably higher than the 95th percentile of approximately 200 mg/dL (5.18 mmol/L), a level considered to be high by the NCEP pediatric panel.16
The difference in the mean triglyceride level after 6 months of receiving the ketogenic diet was also significantly higher compared with baseline. The mean value of 154 mg/dL (1.74 mmol/L) well exceeded the approximate 95th percentile for triglycerides in the first decade (100 mg/dL [1.13 mmol/L]) and the second decade (130 mg/dL [1.47 mmol/L]) of life. The mean difference between the baseline and follow-up VLDL levels was also significant and in proportion to that expected by the increase in the triglyceride levels. Measuring the non-HDL cholesterol and the apoB levels also assessed the change in the apoB-containing lipoproteins. Both of these parameters also increased significantly to mean levels that exceeded the 95th percentiles reported in reference healthy pediatric populations.19,24 A sizable proportion of the study population was now both hypertriglyceridemic and hypercholesterolemic. |

LOL and you even have the expensive mic. Are you familiar with changing the autofocus settings on that thing? When you do your close ups the camera will jump focus from you to the background. I'm guessing it is set to full field for focus. There should be a way to set it to just the center points. That should stop it from changing focus points. I never even used this thing for video until a few months ago. I think the problem is that I've been running the volume too low on the camera. I know how to work it, its just that the video auto focus is notoriously horrible and always hunting. I bounce between using the face recognition focus and the focus point tracking depending on what one seems to work better that day.... It's still spotty at best. I have been getting better results with higher aperture and more DOF, but i still have no way of knowing when it loses focus. It's OK tracking lateral movement, but not front to back. Bottom line is, it's a bit weird for me to be doing video. I use the camera in full manual almost exclusively and until 4 months ago, the switch to video more had never even been moved in this thing. |

Congrats on the weight loss. Is the headache and memory fog getting any better?
The audio was much better, no need to turn the volume up or down while listening. One suggestion would be to look into the camera more. You look down a lot, I'm assuming as you are trying to put your words in order and focus on the thought. The eye contact with the camera is the difference between me watching you talk about yourself and me feeling like I'm in the room as you are talking to me. Don't over do it and make it creepy though but a little more direct eye contact with the camera would be good. |

I think the way you sound is fine, at least for this stage of things. We have all felt down, we have all been depressed, we've all gained wait and had to fight to get it off...and that is always accompanied by low energy and feeling down. The low energy and sounding down actually creates sympathy/feeling towards you making it real.
In the latest video after the video of your son I was expecting you to go into a "why am I doing this" section again and then remind people that you want to be around to see your son grow up. Anyone with kids can connect with wanting to be there for them. Routinely talking him up as a motivating factor would be good and creates a connection point with the audience. The positive points and good changes can have more enthusiasm. Losing pounds, the headaches going away, mental clarity coming back should all be up-beat with almost over the top excitement so that viewers will feel excited with you. The sailing channel I mentioned previously does a good job it. You can tell they are exaggerating and saying things they normally wouldn't but when they get excited I feel the excitement even though I'm just watching. Over all your vlog has improved and you are doing great with it. Even if you didn't change anything going forward you have already improved to the point of being good at it. |

It's good that you're doing something, but doing extreme weird things leads to failure as it's just not sustainable and you're not learning anything by just eating bacon.
Why not start out on Google and dig deep into what you're after? Get on a lifting program, eat clean, and try to build lean muscle, and fuck the scale. It doesn't matter how much you weigh. Your goal is to be fit and strong, not on a diet. You want to eat whatever you want to eat?? You gotta want to be fit, want higher T, want to feel, look good. Then whatever you eat will be something that moves you toward your goals. That Keto shit is ok in the short term, but its not healthy, IDAGF. You need a balanced diet of real food. It's not hard, it just requires that you be genuinely interested and proactive on learning more all the time, and not being afraid to ditch old beliefs and keep progressing. I was a fat ass when I was a kid, until I was 17-18 years old. I got interested in fitness and I've eating whatever I want for almost 20 years and I easily and happily maintain a low body fat by eating to maintain or build lean muscle. It helps that even a little beer and/or wine gives me a wicked hangover. But liquor? I'll clean ya out. |

Most people refuse to self reflect, admit to their own problems, internalize the cause, and come up with a game plan to improve. I've been in 3 rough spots in my life where I went through the process and always came out for the better at the end. My issues weren't weight related but they were bad habit and core belief related. It takes a lot of courage to do what dupemaster is doing, without the public videos and I will support anyone on this board going through that process. You on the other hand seem to prefer shitting on people trying to improve their live because they are doing it differently than you would. |

Want to lose weight?
Eat right (this means you have to cook) Exercise for a month, every day, for at least an hour (and i mean exercise not just sit in a weight room and look at them). You will lose weight. If you just diet, you are going to gain it all back again. There is no sustainable weight loss without exercise. |
