Simply put, history swings in a pendulum.
The democrats will find a crass loud mouthed candidate to counter trump. Possibly Hispanic. I know every generation felt the end was near, but it sure does feel like the real thing this time. Government is not dealing with our debt as a #1 priority. Meaning they are not worried about the future. Almost every administration worried about our country's future and yet now? Crickets. I've noticed the pathos of this nation is pessimistic, angry and afraid. Very very bad combination. |

I am still elated that we managed to put Trump in the White House.
Having said that, I've started to get back into prepping again (after a several year lay-off). My safe contains another .308 battle rifle (this time, an HK91 clone) and I've been stocking up on more mags and ammo. There'll be no gulags for this old dog. |

The left will need to come back towards the center if they have hopes for their future success. Based on their reaction to November I have serious doubts they are capable of doing that at this point.

This localized strategy will be combined with national level obstructionism which will be provided with a force-multiplying appearance by the media. They will boldly advance their most radical agenda (including anti 2A) in anti-Trump states, to continue legislative gains, maintain the public perception of their power and relevance, and to satisfy their leftist constituency. I think the dems need to drop the identity politics. Hillary supported every little offshoot demographic they could drum up, all of which where going to support her anyways. She preached to the choir and only the choir. The media carried her propaganda to everyone else and the whole thing failed this time. As far as the whole thing going sideways it would have happened after '08. We had the dem Congress, dem White house, and headed for a Dem supreme court. But no Dem military = no gulag. Unless the dems want to take up residence in it themselves. They aren't going to risk that unless they have it in the bag. That's why this election has been so hard for them to accept, it's a bigger setback for them than we think.
