Clearance at BrownellsThese any good? Anybody ever used one? I see Anderson lowers on sale quite often......what about the complete rifles?

They had that rifle on sale during the Superbowl halftime for $299 plus shipping.  At that price point, I would buy a M&P 15 Sport.

I own Anderson stripped uppers and lowers but no complete rifles.

ETA-- They have a bad reputation but one of our members (Old Painless?) put one through the grinder and says it is good to go.

IMHO it's about $50 overpriced. Bare bones bottom shelf ARs with no sights shouldn't cost $500 right now.

That's a clearance dump price?   no, that's pretty much market price - for a bottom-rung AR with base furniture using a carbine length gas system on a 16" BBL.

They have a DPMS for almost $100 cheaper than the Anderson.

Every time I've seen those at AIM or PSA they're $499.

My LGS sells exclusively andersons but with their logo on it. Between the employees and their customers, they've put a lot of rounds through them and haven't had many issues they just charge too damn much for what it is. I buy stripper Anderson lowers for my builds because they are in spec, cheap and I don't care about the roll mark. Anderson lowers and palmetto state armory everything else can make a complete rifle for $500 or less easily.

I realize I got off topic so long story short, $550 is way too much.

I helped my cousin put one together from Anderson parts. There's a LGS that carries tons of their parts. It's a great rifle. The finish is good and it's really acurite.

ETA: My cousin was in the airforce so he got a military discount on the parts which knocked out tax. I think we were out the door for $400 flat.

You can get a Ruger, Smith and Wesson, or PSA for that price.

This. The Ruger AR556 is the best deal going in this price range. It comes with a very good 1:8 barrel, too.

I figure I could buy others at cheaper prices. My question is, Are they acceptable ARs? What kinda rep does Anderson have?
