Jeeps are "military style" vehicles. Hell,,,I`m scared to even drive by a Dodge dealership now. They look "scary" AND you can accessorize them to boot! LOL at the "real Jeep" hipsters.
I would not trade any of the civilian Jeeps I have owned for the M151A2 I drove in the Army. Might be fun for your Sunday drives, but not so much when you are living in it and depending on it getting you from point A to point B with every part in between being mud and tank tracks. I have been in a Jeep as my DD for the last 30 years and while the new ones are certainly not as easy for me to service, my 2013 JKR is my hands down favorite. And by far the most capable off-road in a stock config. Also has a nearly 300 horsepower engine with 4.10 gearing from the factory, so feel free to line up your old Willys next to it and bring your pink slip. Or we can try going rock crawling and see how that works out for you. Sell your hipster BS to somebody else. |

It's sat for 8 years in the garage. Needs a bit to finish it, but I put a newly rebuilt L-134 in it 3 years ago - haven't run it since. Been too busy pouring money into my God forsaken FJ40s. Edit - Its a '46 - and I have a Military aluminum hard top for it. |

Nah. I live in snowflake central and COULD park in in my back yard, but let it stay on my driveway to trigger my neighbors. Sometimes I will even fire it up at 6 am and let them hear the sound of "murica. Just counting the days until I can take the doors and top off! It was upper 60s yesterday and I went for a drive with the windows down and the back open. Felt great!
