Blueberry Stolie and sprite is pretty tasty. I guess you could use diet.

Best mixer I've ever had was the house drink at the the Tres Generations distillery. I forgot what all went in it, but it's worth the google.

A decent aged rum, lime and ice. Can also substitute the rum for tequila.

I will also occasionally do the mojito- rum, lime, mashed mint leaves, simple syrup and a splash of soda.

Tequila and Oj
Vodka and the simply brand raspberry lemonade is also damn good

When on/near the beach:  Meyers and OJ

When I'm enjoying a nice steak dinner:  Manhattan

Drinking at a bar:  Gin and Tonic

I know theat one does not qualify for you, but it's what I will drink the most when I'm out.

If it's available:  caipirinha

This is my favorite drink of all.  Therefore, this is the winning answer.

From the Brazilian folks I've talked to, a proper caipirinha is made with limes, extra fine sugar and vodka.  According to them, only bums drink cachaca.

I'm going to break OPs rules of no carbonated soft drinks.

7&7. Half Seagram's Whiskey, half 7-Up. I generally don't enjoy alcohol but those are pretty good.

As someone who fancies himself an amateur bartender, my favorite two simple drink recipes are the whiskey sour (bourbon and sour mix--I make my own sour mix but you can find something serviceable at the store) and pineapple juice with spiced rum (for the summer). Nothing wrong with either.
