This.

If it must be a mixed drink an old fashioned and all it's variations are good to experiment with.

I'm a fan of good whiskey neat or on the rocks. I appreciate fine scotch.

But god damn if a Jack and Coke doesn't taste good...

Made with bar-tenders sour mix. It's a powder. I use either water or flat sprite depending on which cheap bourbon I use.

Eta Manhattans are also very tasty.

Good answers on here already.

One of my best friends, dude I had my first of many beers with, texted me a couple of years ago drinking an "appletini" with his wife.  It was like I didn't even know him anymore.

Told him to try a duckhunter martini:  Three fingers of good bourbon and three ice cubes.  Repeat as necessary.

Option B is shots of Tito's fresh out of the freezer.  Drink water in between shots, and repeat for several hours.

Simple is good.

I've got a bourbon collection that would make pappy Van Winkle proud. I think I've had every IPA, stout, Porter, known to man.
I still really enjoy a 50/50 vodka cranberry from time to time.

When on/near the beach:  Meyers and OJ

When I'm enjoying a nice steak dinner:  Manhattan

Drinking at a bar:  Gin and Tonic

I know theat one does not qualify for you, but it's what I will drink the most when I'm out.

If it's available:  caipirinha

This is my favorite drink of all.  Therefore, this is the winning answer.

I mostly drink Bourbon but used to make my version of Margaritas a lot during the summers.

Mix of lime, lemon and orange juice (proportions to your taste) but mostly lime.
Tequila
Orange liquor (I like Patron Citronge but any will work).
Simple syrup or other sweetener to taste.
Mix over ice and shake well.

Don't drink too many, they go down really easy in the heat of the summer.

Dirty Martini.

A very good quality Pina Coloda is good. It's like an ice cream sundae.

Usually just bourbon, but I will admit to craving a crappy Mexican restaurant frozen margarita once in a while.
