According to my numbers...The Wait being 40 to 42 weeks long,
Anybody sending in their Forms Today will more or less have them APPROVED at the end of January, beginning of February 2018. |

Jesus Christ..........this is just fucking ridiculous how long it takes for them to process these NFA applications.
Do something about this Trump et.al............I have emailed politicians until I am blue in the fucking face..............STILL LONG WAIT TIMES. I guess I have no influence.
I put my two in during November, 2016............at 63 years old I might be fucking dead before it gets approved. |

The whole thing stinks. Almost a year wait? Total BS. It would be incredibly easy to just staff up the NFA branch and get the wait times down to a few weeks, and it would create jobs.

When i called the ATF several months agao they said mid march I should get it. The struggle, is real, but not as real as for those that submitted the day before the deadline I guess....

Can purchased from SilencerShop on 6/25.
They didnt mail paper trust Form 4 until 7/12, the very last day before 41F took effect. Nearly three week delay without telling me! The NFA's bankers were by then overwhelmed. Form didn't actually get received by NFA from the bank until 7/22! As of today, NFA branch is still not close to processing it! So, ten and a half months have elapsed since I purchased my silencer; and I'm still no closer to getting it! Although the postmark of June 12 should precede the new 41F requirements by one day, I would not be surprised if the NFA loses the documentation after all this time and rejects my application. Proving the mailing date would only add weeks to an already agonizingly lengthy process. Don't know if I would buy from them again after this. SS should have been more up front with me about their document preparation delays... |

paper form 4 trust mailed 06/21/16 check cashed 06/27/16 approved 03/18/17 arrived to Dealer 04/04/17 SBR paper form 4 trust mailed 07/06/16 check cashed 07/09/16 approved 05/02/17 arrived to SAME Dealer 05/15/17 So, in this instance of all other factors being equal, a 15 day difference in mailing ended up being a 45 day difference in "Approved" dates. Those last minute submissions are really clogging up the works. |
