I read another of your responses in this thread about the ineffectiveness of trying to take some of the house chores off of her shoulders, and you're right, it doesn't help.  I've been married 13 years and have a 6 month old, and my wife and I work just about every waking hour to take care of our kid and keep the house running, and we've only got one kid and my wife stays at home.  There's no relief for you there with two kids and a working wife.

This is a fair question to ask, and I believe that the answers run the gamut of possibilities.  I don't doubt that in some cases there were lies, in other cases there were mistaken assumptions, in some cases the man failed to be attentive outside of the bedroom, in some cases the man continued being attentive, etc, etc.

In some cases the husband became neglectful of his wife by allowing hobbies, TV, and other interests to distract him from her.  In some cases a husband is neglected by his wife for so long that he turns to distractions to escape the physical frustration and emotional pain.
