Do you know the difference between an Iron Cross and a Swastika? I guess not. Adolf Hitler restored the Iron Cross in 1939 as a German decoration. I predict after reading some of this thread, that psa will become emboldened after these "takings", and promptly invade Poland. |

If I RMA something for replacement and the company I bought it from decided they were going to do whatever they wanted I'd probably be a little upset. View Quote As a buyer for a company who buys in high volume as an end user I would be pissed and raise hell on principle if a vendor sold me something that didn't meet spec or was less than advertised and then made a unilateral decision on my RMA. Want my money play by my rules. Otherwise, F off. Get screwed. Their company their rules only applies if I work for them. My money my rules if they want my business. Capitalism FTW. |

I'll concede I didn't word that clearly if you just read my post by itself. If read in context with the thread, he was sold a rifle with billet parts, but received a rifle with cast parts if the OP is correct. To the second point, it doesn't matter what the fair market value is. PSA doesn't get to decide whether they want to purchase something back from a customer just because they have enough money to refund the orignal purchase the guy made. It's a two way street, the customer has to want a refund for this option to be on the table. View Quote If they cannot fulfill the customer's request then a refund isn't the answer? I seriously doubt PSA is selling billet parts at their pricing. Sounds like a marketing screw up. I bought an M70 from Century once and got two shitty guns. They chose refund to resolve it because they figured they couldn't make me happy with their product, they were probably right and I bought something I liked instead. |

Went and read the whole 29 page thread over at the Files...What a shit show sounds about right, though in this case PSA may have brought it in themselves, Can't quite understand why every American manufacturer wants to try and reinvent the motherfucking wheel when it comes to making a domestic AK....
Stop the bullshit of double notching the damned barrel for the HG retainer, ESPECIALLY WHEN NEITHER NOTCH IS CORRECTLY POSITIONED AND WON'T EVEN WORK WITH THE FUCKING FURNITURE YOU SELL FOR IT !!. Stop being cheap bastards when it comes to trunnions & BCGs, as these are the heart of the rifle, and people WILL notice and out you for it. Again, especially if you're in every youtube & marketing ad swearing there's NO CAST PARTS IN THIS RIFLE !! Thought about pulling the trigger on a couple of these myself but after that thread and the double barrel notches for the HG retainer I think I'll stick with the imported AKs or just build from parts kits from known AK factories. |

Guess I was lucky those 3 or 4 times, including returning son's 14.7" upper to pin & weld that was miss-advertised. They took care of us just fine, and plenty fast, on their nickel. I was polite, patient, succinct, and not an asshole and it turned out great. They are a busy value-oriented company and shit happens.
If the victim over there was an asshole, sent in the item, and got a refund instead of his AK piece whatever back, that is ethical and literally legal. ETA excellent thread |

I bought some ammo from them years back that was in stock and it took weeks to get. Never again. I'll pay a little more from SGA and have it shipped the next day.

I'm not 100% clear on how refunding a customer's money is theft. Can someone literally fill me in on that? Yea, the theft claim is kind of libelous if he was made whole. you bring me your car to change out the engine and instead of changing out the engine I just give you money without giving you a chance to make a "Choice" of money or car. How would you handle it? How about your house, you hire me to fix a plumbing issue but instead I move all your stuff out and pay you for the house. I mean I didn't steal it as you got money out of the deal. |

It appears from the thread title; " Palmetto State Larceny" , that the OP literally has an ax of some sort to grind. No I actually like PSA, I got the title off someone else making fun of the situation. It doesn't matter from whom you claim to have gotten the title off of, you brought it here from somewhere else, allegedly on behalf of someone else, so you own it here, same as you got this alleged problem off someone else and brought it here second hand. 1. Your post had nothing to do with the dealer/manufacturer claiming one thing and sending out another. It said "if you bought a car and it didn't have the rims you wanted on it". 2. 1.If they claimed you were getting solid 24k gold wheels/rims/whatthefuckeveritdoesn'tmatter and you found out later that they were brass plated, tough shit huh? 2.It would be fantastic if you wanted them to do that. What if the item has appreciated in value? What if samsung walked in your house and ripped your TV off the wall? As long as they gave you a refund right? 1. Your post had nothing to do with the dealer/manufacturer claiming one thing and sending out another. It said "if you bought a car and it didn't have the rims you wanted on it". 2. Such an incredibly minuscule amount of vehicles appreciate from the new price that the argument is practically invalid - especially because in the case we're debating about it is not the case either. Let me preface by saying I have a few PSA rifles.. including a gen1 AK. I personally don't have any issues with them. That being said, to relate to the hyopthetical above.. When you return your car for service, they don't get to choose what to do with your car. As the owner your name is on the title and it is your property and as the owner you decide what happens. I'd postulate the same is true of any property, even if you don't have a title. Now in the event of danger to life or property there might be a right by the manufacturer to mandate a refund or replacement, but I'm just guessing on that one. |

The PSA AK saga has been a shit show from day one.
No mention of cast trunnions, they don't know the difference between a complete bolt they advertised and the stripped bolt they sent , no sling attachment ring on the front HG retainer, off spec front sight drum hole. Blah. I finally got tied of dealing with them, made the necessary alterations, and built the PSA AK barreled receiver out with a bolt I already had and got shed of it. At least I broke even on it. |

I'd be more than a little miffed if this happened to me. The fact that he got his money back would have been enough, from my opinion, to call it lesson learned and never buy from PSA again.
This isn't as bad as the OP is making it, but the PSA response does leave a lot of ambiguity. If they were offering a free upgrade, why didn't they do this for the Akfiles guy instead of just returning his money? My guess is there's more to the story than that. Lesson noted from this thread? Don't buy an AK from PSA. |
