Don't see why the ATF needs a Director if they just dissolve the bureau entirely. The ATF should be back under Treasury, the ATF collects the tax from breweries, distilleries, tobacco producers, firearm manufactors and ammo manufactors. That should be their entire job. The ATF does not collect taxes from breweries and distilleries, or from tobacco producers. These and the excise taxes on firearm and ammo manufacturers is collected by the TTB under Treasury. |

None of the people you listed would want the demotion to that position. ETA I nominate Wayne Lapierre! That would be fun. The salt reserves would grow x2. This. The yays have it, motion passed! |

Nolo would be good.
Colion (sp) would work. I know he isn't too well liked amongst many here, but how about Jessie James? He was a very early Trump supporter and would make lots of heads explode. As long as he doesn't mandate use of his football shaped supressor thingie. |

How about we just disband the ATF, and give the responsibility to the FBI and DEA.

But I guess not, with that nepotism thing. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Since JFK was able to get RFK as his AG, I seriously doubt making DT Jr the Director of BATFE could be considered nepotism. Anyway, considering the hoops President Trump had to jump through to remove himself from the operations of the Trump business, I suspect DT Jr. will be very busy for the next 4-8 years. I nominate Old_Painless for Director of BATFE. |

Clarke is anti-NFA. Soyeahfuckthat. View Quote I'm not sure he is entirely anti-NFA. I'll have to look into that. We don't have shall issue on NFA apps & this makes many CLEO's a tad nervous due to possible litigation. Those I have talked to said if they had shall issue they would sign in a heartbeat. Add: I'd totally be onboard with Nolo or Mr. Noir! Petition time? |

So yeah.... it would be considered nepotism... |

That list sucks. NO cops. NO .mil I vote TJ Sotomayor View Quote I would be ok wit some .mil. Preferably previously enlisted. E8 level. It's an administrative post. I don't agree with Nolo. He would be great. But I would hate to lose his skills arguing cases in support of gun rights. We need him on the legal battlefield, not the administrative one. |

With the proper director there would be less need for litigation. |
