If you are working people, then why are you spending $65 on a five year old's shoes? You make a lot of bad choices, don't you? Son was born with jacked up feet. Foot specialist told us which ones to buy. They are 95% good now. No limp or in toeing. What brand? Or are they orthopedic? |

your wife is right..
chill homie. ETA: unless the girl is his Kindergarten teacher. then you are on the money. |

Let it go dude, it will all be forgotten in a couple of months. You are wound up a little too tight.

I think every post in this thread nailed it.
Sorry OP, I'd say you are the problem. |

Kindergarten through 2nd grade my boy had 3 girlfriends at the same time. Two of them had the same name. He's in third grade now and thank God he's cut it back to two. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8j40qJPT1Y The last was a hot but crazy redhead (I know, redundant) who went to AA meetings with my (now ex) wife. When it was pointed out to him that his fiancee already HAD a fiancee, and they were going to be married in about a month, my son's response was "That's ok - I'll be his minion." Kids will imitate what they think is adult behavior and roles without really understanding it. |

Ok, I'll go *a little* against the common opinion here and say that the OP's wife should call the teacher and talk to her about the shoes. "Yes, it's puppy love and play etc. but those shoes are very expensive even though they don't look like it, and could the teacher please keep an eye out? Thanks so much." And yes, the wife, because the OP can't be trusted to keep it low key and not involve CSI. |

Shoot, I had a hot redhead girlfriend in KG and 3 cute girls (still included the redhead) flirting with me in 1st grade. Loved it.

Sounds like you were home schooled OP.
This shit happens to young kids. My parents laughed and threw the shit in the washer. You're over-reacting. |

Linda Ship did that to me when we were in Kindergarten. We even held hands in the milk line. That was 44 years ago. No letters were sent to the school. No OMGWTFBBQ posts were made on the internet... I somehow was able to overcome such a terrible episode and live a productive life. I hope Linda did too.

No problem with the Girlfriend thing, just not writing it all over his stuff. View Quote LOL! Brother, you are going to be buying that stuff for 12 more years! It's not even a freckle on a gnats ass. Listen to your wife on this one. Hell, ask her who's notebook she wrote her name on in KG and watch her blush. It's no big deal unless you make it a big deal. |

I've walked in on wedding ceremonies at my little girls school. 4 year old class. Complete with dress.
Let kids be kids. The boy won't have a car for a little while. Arrival and departure from school always includes a hug-fest with her girl and boy buddies. Healthy, happy little people. |

First thread where everyone agrees? WTF somethings going on here.
OP he will grow out of those shoes before the end of the year. Get used to it. IF he doesn't destroy them on the playground next week. |

As everyone else has said, you're overreacting. Big time. Your son is 5 for chrissakes, shit like this has always happened at that age and always will. Looks like you need to join him at some point when he starts to learn how to spell. You have maybe a year or 2 to get ready but it will be for the best.

Your overreaction level is 10/10.
You told your son to "put a stop to it"? He's 5. |

tell him to cross out her name and write another hotter little girls name

A least you get the money angle. We are working people. Its not got to the point where it on his clothing or shoes, but I don't want him coming home with messed up 65$ shoes. Just wondering how other fathers feel about it? View Quote Wait, Fucking $65 shoes for a 5 year old? Those things won't even fit in a few months. NM, special shoes. |

Worrying about writing on a kindergarten kids stuff? Not like it will be around for a long time anyhow, now if she wants him to get a tattoo...

You're not in communication with your sons teacher where you can drop her a note.

I don't want to buy new stuff when they are not friends. Am I wrong. 5 is to young to be claimed. View Quote You are. Big time. Oh, FFS. They're 5. It's kid stuff. |
